Anyone else find it interesting that the graphics stretched outside the "standard def" frame? That is, you had to have an HDTV to see all the graphics. First time I've seen a broadcast do that.

(Was it broadcast letterbox on non HDTV channels?)

Up until this season, I've watched it in standard def. There would be times in some episodes for 5 or 10 minutes where it would be all jacked up. I watched last nights ep in HD and it looked great with the new graphics. (and now that I ditched the old TV, I can tell the difference between a club and a spade)

It would be pretty crappy if they don't fix it for standard def. It's tilting otherwise.

I wasn't there, so whatever if he had a read, but in a vacuum I didn't like it. I also didn't like the short-stacked Juanda "automatic" 3bet shove w A6s (or whatever), which I believe was also against an EP raiser.

Weak aces are weak. If you are first in, that's another story, but with action in front you just have to sigh and fold both spots IMO.

That said, I believe the antes were huge in this event, which mitigates it some.

I thought the Grinder played all right. He definitely looked a little dumb when all his donkbets with air got snapped off, and he did get in some absurdly favorable situations, but it wasn't to Joe Cada extents or anything and the shove with A7s heads up seemed pretty standard, just sick that he got there.

As for why people seem to suddenly love Mizrachi, well he's a comeback/underdog type of story and that has quite the appeal. I thought he was pretty annoying during the 2008 $10k PLO and in other previous broadcasts but now that he doesn't look as much as a dumb guido anymore and seems to be a bit humbler, it's hard not to root for him a bit.

It says Vladimir Schemelev on the Hendon Mob but the graphics call him Shchemelev. Is this because we don't know how to write Russian names and they don't know themselves either?
