ya. he shows very little class, a lot of ****ty play. the only thing i liked was his taking out Baker, who comes across as an even bigger tool on tv.

I was thinking the same thing... haha I'm doubting the two of them go over strategy every night but whatever.
As bad as Grinder played I would have to imagine that there were dozens of hands he played really good that got cut out. That being said he luckboxed his way out of every major hand so thats not really saying much.
Regardless gg Grinder, gl in November!

That whole all-in thing with Robert and Grinder felt so staged and self-important. Plus Grinder played so awful. If he wins the ME we should all start playing Scrabble.

Editing aside, the grinder showed some pretty bad leaks.

Wonder will Grinder watch this and think "Everyone now thinks when I call oop then lead out on the flop I have air, so in November I'm going to lead out with monsters and trap everyone. I'm a genius!"

Big surprise after watching this that an action junkie like Grinder would owe lots of money. I consider this broadcast an insight into his recklessness and impulsiveness.

Is the only this we are going to hear about during every tourney is how the winner played terrible and just got lucky as if thats not already know.
I think by now everyone knows you have to get lucky to win a tourney. We don't need to hear about it every time there is a tourney on TV.

Re: WSOP on ESPN: $50,000 Players Championship, July 27 - 8-10pm ET
I know they weren't that deep but I think the play was pretty bad all around. With Bakes stacks I hate the open with K 10 especially with these players who are likely to flat.(i know it's edited so possible his raises were getting through often)
On the Q 10 x ss board I'd much rather lead/fold or check/call once and be done with the hand. The Q just hits mizrachi's flat range so hard vs an utg raise.
Also, what's with players calling out cards that don't immediately help the(bakes calling out the 9 diamonds) when he needs the Q for a straight with his AJ vs Grinders AK.
Oppenhiemer played terrible in blind vs blind with grinder. His raise on the river with J 7 after floating the turn is just awful. Just raise pre or bet flop and be done with it. Terrible board to represent anything with that play.
Grinder's AQ vs Oppenheimers set of 4's on Q 4 x board seems like an easy c/call him down since Oppenheimer opened utg and is very unlikely to action from better hands if he raises.

If I remember correctly a 9 of diamonds would have put a 4th diamond on the board (allowing for a flush to chop since neither player had a diamond), as well as give him more straight outs on the river.
besides a Queen the 9 of diamonds is the best card in the deck for him (if I remember correctly)

Watching the replay on ESPN2...
It's annoying how they keep referencing "Mix Game" and Chad is talking about how that's such a great format, so and so's specialty isn't NL, Mix Game play has been this/that.
BUUUUUUUT
You the audience are too stupid to follow anything but NL, so that's what we're doing here.

Re: WSOP on ESPN: $50,000 Players Championship, July 27 - 8-10pm ET
Since this morphed into a strategy thread, I thought Mizrachi's overflat after UTG open and UTG 2 (Juanda's JJ) flat with KQoff and like 14bbs was horrific. Sure the flop comes Qhigh.....why not? Not saying I am folding, but overflatting is beyond awful, even in live poker where people flat absurd stacks.
Oppenheim is pretty nitty and Grinder should know that, so calling KQoff to a cold 4bet was bad. When playing the 100r on Stars shorthanded, it is a fistpump call, in the 50K with livepros, it is an insta-muck.
While I am criticizing.....Juanda flats JJ with 30bbs, and open ships K9 utg with 20bbs. Makes Sense.

I get that. if you're going to call a card call the best one, not the 2nd.
