A little help from my friends? A little help from my friends?

Just checking - when playing live tournaments it's okay to discuss in between hands specific hands/players with your friends who are watching on the rails right?

But them signaling you in any way during a hand would be frowned on correct?

It's usually ok as long as the hand is over.

You have to think about etiquette though when your openly criticizing or analyzing how you think a player has played a hand.

The fact is a lot of people don't want to hear it so i wouldn't be surprised if you were told to stop talking to players not involved in the game.

ok, I don't really have loud discussions about the play at the table - just might walk over to the rail after i fold a hand and chat a little about the previous hand - can't see anyone getting annoyed at that.

Yeah, that's fine. Tho' if you do it too much, people are going to know you're a newbie.

It's often the case that people not involved in a hand can pick up tells better than someone involved. For that matter, people on the rails can often see the cards of the players at a table (someday that's going to become an issue at the WSOP when someone is caught signaling to a friend from the rail). So yes, signals from the audience would be "frowned on".

Whenever anyone I don't know asks what I had, I tell them they'll get to see it on TV. It's good for the game.
