Why did the WSOP change the chip design post-2006? Why did the WSOP change the chip design post-2006?

After 10 years of suffering, I've finally decided to look for answers as to why this happened. The Bud Jones chip set Harrah's used at the WSOP from 2004 to 2006 is the most gorgeous I've ever seen, and I was utterly disappointed when they changed it. I've never seen this discussed or even mentioned anywhere, so I wonder if anyone has any info on this. I figured that probably no one cares except me, and that the chips must have sadly been disposed of by Harrah's. The reason I bring this up now is because to my great delight I saw them resurface at several of the preliminary events at this year's WSOP:

Event #18: $565 Pot-Limit Omaha

Event #23: THE MARATHON - $2,620 No-Limit Hold'em

Event #60: $888 Crazy Eights No-Limit Hold'em 8-Handed

Up-close at the 5:31 mark:

2004 Main Event

2005 Main Event

2006 Main Event

I hate that chip set. Theyve used it for years for the daily deep stack and recently for things that need a lot of chips (monster, colossus, marathon, etc) It might look good, but theyre too slippery, the main wsop chips are worlds better.

I like them both but I think the newer Paulson's are much nicer.
