People who complain about spending $10 are not the people you want at your poker table.

People who complain about spending $10 are not the type of people you want in your hotel or restaurant.

It's $10 folks, is it really worth getting all worked up about ?

If you are ever wondering who the miserable life nit is, it's you.

It's not about the money. It's the principle. I don't care if it's 10 cents. Nobody should be supporting these guys for buying the rights to an event that was handled superbly by WSOP.com themselves last year, and ****ing it up.

I'd happily pay $50-$100 for it in the same format it was in last year, on YouTube or Twitch or somewhere else that doesn't lag like **** and has proper VoD access.

Yes.

What kinda thinking is that anyway? If every service provider were thinking like that, everything would be crap. I pay for 15 "$10 things" per month. For how many of them should I not care about what I get in return?

Poker has turned into prizefighting where we will have to pay to watch the stuff we care about.

Diff being boxing and wresting events have much larger fanbases. Poker has a very small niche group of people interested in it. It should be free to view to help grow the game not taxed when the interest in the game is becoming less and less every year that goes on.

Putting it on twitch is great as the game is going to be shown to people outside of diehard players to grow the game. Putting it on this pay to watch model is going to limit who sees poker. Not a good thing.

Yeah PayPal working fine, so should be able to easily cancel via PayPal now?

Having Kevin Hart on a table gives more incentive for non-poker players to watch and be introduced to the game. While I do think it should be free as some people just aren't going to pay to watch poker- its not my content. That being said, based on the posts here it sounds like there should have been a 1 month, 3 month, etc option that is not recurring.

Twitch had 25k viewers on day 1. I don't know how much money they're making off subscriptions, but I can't imagine it being that much. The exposure it would get on Twitch would be insane.

the lack of a rewind is annoying, the +10/-10 buttons aren't working for me and wouldn't really do much if they were. Would be nice to pause, rewind, etc like I can do on a Youtube stream, hopefully they're paying attention

Hmm... That's what I thought. But when I go to my preapproved payments on PayPal (gear icon/payments/manage pre-approvedd payments), I don't see PokerGo (Poker Central LLC) on the list.

That's weird. It seems like it was one time payment after all? Or did they somehow abide the system and will charge me anyway?

Poker Central is apparently too stingy to keep an archive up of the day one stream on their YT channel. Yeah, $10 is not that much, but this company is showing incredible lack of respect towards their potential customers. Why would I want to give money to someone who offers less and worse service that I'm used to or have for free? Yeah, I get it that I'm in no way entitled to it, but the reality is that for $10 I can get much more bang for my buck than their technically inadequate and questionable services.

And also, I'm unemployed so the $10 services start to add up, so it does actually matter what services are worth it. And this company seems to take it for granted that poker people will just fork it over no matter how degraded the experience is. Yeah, no.

i like it , it says theyre bringing back poker after dark. if theyre making content it will be good for poker community. if you remember netflix started like that they sucked at first and then it is what it is now. people should give it a chance it might turn into something decent.

but theyre ****ing up by not doing a month free sub. like everyone else.

Has it even occurred to you that for them to be able to buy it, WSOP were wanting to sell it?
WSOP were obviously putting more money into the streaming than they were getting out of it and didn't want to do it themselves anymore.

Curious what you all think of this theory.

I'm a pro but I suspect even recs want poker to be healthy which means bringing in more players. Since I already watch 40 hours a week of poker at the tables I dont watch streams for recreation. So I am not the target audience. I suspect that the people who are willing to pay to watch poker are already poker players but dont get a lot of hours in and thus like watching it for entertainment. IF that statement is true then having a paywall is really bad for the game as it blocks people who are not already interested from seeing the feeds and getting hooked,

FWIW - I would pay for mixed games or other not frequently covered game formats it it was of the high quality we got last year, - I view that as paying for education. Im not likely to pay for this as entertainment.

That would make sense if the game was growing. The game is not growing. As a niche game it makes more sense to use a pay model because providing it for free is not sustainable without a huge viewer base like UFC/WWE which can sustain themselves off ad revenue.

Which is why I am advocating that they broadcast every day 1 on twitch for free.

Yes there are some big technical problems. It is weird that some streaming services get this right and others fail miserably. WWE's streaming site has been excellent from the start while the UFC's was quite crappy but has improved some over time.

Month free sub during the only time of year many people will be watching seems unwise. Counterpoint to that is that WWE offered one free month during Wrestlemania. Counterpoint to that is WWE has been struggling greatly since moving to a subscription model.

I do agree with you that I would expect them to add more content as time goes on similar to what the UFC has done adding local promotions to Fight Pass. Although, some of this content may be content that is currently free which will just piss people off more I suppose.

I don't think their target market is unemployed people. In fact, I can't think of many services whose target market is unemployed people. If $10 is a problem I'd recommend getting a job. As for why someone would you give your money to them? Umm, I'd assume because you would like to watch the Super High Roller Bowl and WSOP events.

Agreed with you going a lone seems a bad idea, but if they think they can attract new people who don't play then good luck to them (I'm with you I don't think they will). Personally I wouldn't watch enough, You might say it's only $10 but I'm not a big fan of burning money like this,

Picked up a subscription although not sure if I will watch or not. Might watch final table in a couple days. More content is good and you can call and take auto renew off. It should be an option right on the site though.

Wow, you're right. I'm also not seeing it on my recurring payment whitelist. I'm pretty sure it's not possible for them to charge you whenever they feel like it, without customer approval. Was this just a huge blunder on their part?

Poker Go almost available on Roku, the app is now on the website. Called customer service to inquire, they answered in less than a minute and the woman was extremely friendly and knowledgeable.
