You all should be careful what you wish for.

First off, Norman Chad is a breath of fresh air in a prickly game.
He's funny on the air, and I've even played with him twice in Los Angeles and he is always entertaining and pleasant at the table, win or lose.

Second off, you take his slouchy presence off of the WSOP and you might get stuck with hour after hour of Phil Gordon enlightening you or The Professor doing a tutorial on betting light out of position. I'd rather hear Norman sneeze for 60 straight minutes than endure all that hot air from the experts.

i didn't like norman chad at first, but he's got a lot better over the last year, imo. he's dropped some of the ex-wife jokes and added some pretty sharp, witty jabs at the players, which is awesome.

and OP obviously is an h to tha omo, and he's just jealous that norm doesn't think he's handsome.

I mostly watch my poker in mute as Norman Chad is f***ing annoying! What happened to the folks like mike sexton and vince van patten who were such a pleasure to listen and learn the game. He tries too hard to be funny, Irritatingly repetitiveand and misses the essence of poker commentary. I would be happy when they kick f***er out!!

Norman Chad is embarrassing. I use to watch the WSOP in the company of others because I don't want to subject others to his horrible commentary, and at the same time save myself the ridicule of watching a program with his lame jokes. He really does ruin the program for me. The best part is when Lon gives his half-hearted "I'm doing this because I have to" laugh and then changes the subject.
I get that injecting humor into the show boosts the entertainment value for all audiences, but having someone say "That's what she said" at key moments would be more humorous and less platitudinous than the things that Norman says.

OMG I can't TAKE this guy... He's irritating beyond belief. I got to this thread by Googling it's title to see if anyone else found him as abrasive as I do.

His needling of Antonio is probably the worst of it. This guy has no poker experience at all, and I'd rather hear only seasoned Pros doing commentary. He's even belittling and dismissive of most respected Pros.

Perhaps it might be time to get rid of him and put a seasoned vet like Doyle up there. Someone retired but who has the Nuts to actually do decent commentary without needing to yuk it up.

The bolded is proof that you don't get it. Serious high level poker analysis throughout the telecast would kill the ratings, not to mention being bad for poker in general. That would be the broadcast version of tapping the glass.

I think Maria Ho has been a great addition. We still get the jokes from Norman, but we also get a little more in-depth analysis from Maria. And Lon always keeps it all in line. The commentary has been solid so far!

Jamie Kerstetter commentated while Maria was playing.

Now that Maria is out of the tournament, she's participating significantly in the commentary. I think she, Lon and Norman are an excellent trio. I love it when Esfandiari works with them for the way he and Norm give each other a hard time.
