episode 'Call of the century'

Ron, great call!

Eldar, berating the dealer joel for doing his job correctly then telling everyone to shut the f up, for not agreeing with him was so wrong, it made me go from liking Eldar to thinking he is a POS. To qoute Eldar said "shut up and deal, thats your job'...how joel didn't call the floor on him was beyond me. Even Bruno, who took a brutal beat a moment ago, said Eldar was out of line.

Eldar, your better than that, or at least i thought you were.....

You should apologize on air to Joel...he puts up with all your sht...i have seen you poke him in the stomach, mess with his chip box etc...he deserved bettter than that...

Those two should play heads up in a PPV event. I'd pay to see that grudge match.

And also, after watching the video, here's my take:

RBK, I didn't hear anyone say Josh should scoop the whole pot. Some loudmouth said off camera that Josh should double up. That was a mistake, but that's not the same as scooping the whole pot as you claimed.

Secondly, RBK, as annoying as it is to have some jerk who's not even in the hand yell for the wrong action (doubling up Josh), you really shouldn't have gone the route of making personal insults. It makes you very unsympathetic which makes people not want to give you the benefit of the doubt, and it also resulted in the possible threat against your life (Josh is a convicted drug dealer so those threats may have some weight). I think you could have gone as far as telling the guy who wasn't in the hand to shut up while the dealer did his job, but going too far to personally insult people who may be criminals just isn't a good idea.

Third, I think that it is EXTREMELY unfair to use this incident alone as proof that RBK is an angleshooter. This hand was directly viewed by the dealer, the floor, the commentators, and all the people on twitch. This hand will forever be archived in LATB and will never disappear. It just seems odd that someone would pick THIS spot to angle shoot a few hundred dollars and ruin a reputation.

For people who want to continue saying RBK was angleshooting this hand, what was his plan? To yell loud enough to fool the dealer and the floor who watched the whole hand? And hope no other players or LATB viewer noticed what he did? And to never pay back the money if someone did find out and call him out on it and ruin his reputation forever?

I'm not going to lie, RBK comes off as really unsympathetic here. I can't speak on his skills in playing actual hands, but clearly, he does a very bad job of keeping his customers happy. Josh was having fun going all in with an exposed 10 and somehow, you pissed him off enough to get your life threatened. Why do you want players like him to be miserable and hate you? The guy went all in with a ten exposed... and you are standing on your feet yelling and insulting him. Facepalm.

Next time, just let the dealer do his job and correct him if he makes a mistake. Definitely do not scare away the Josh's of your table.

Not having Gary mic'd up tonight was a loss. Or turning up table volume, however that works.

I agree. A couple of weeks ago Scully told a dirty joke on the Poker Central broadcast. Since then, the table volume is way down at least on Wednesdays.

Limon and Nichole said they didn't love Thursday's play because they didn't have hand history for a leveling war. But, when DQ sat down he said something to Bruno like "Remember the last time we played... blah blah" and Bruno said something like "I was in seat 5 you were in seat 6" etc.

But, still.
History... that about it... got fed up been bluff by Bruno... didn't put him on a hand that beat me...

Was that the one that ended with a "F*g" punchline?
Yeah, I can understand that I guess.

What's up Ron!

This is exactly what DGAF talks about in his excellent thread in the medium-high stakes section. Way too few pros understand the nature of their job and that they should do everything in their power to make the game fun for recreational players. You don't have to be an ass-kisser, but simply having a good, positive vibe is enough.

Yep. I wonder what pros who blow up on recs think they're accomplishing. Not only are you pissing off the guy you are yelling at, but you're pissing off everyone else at the table. Do you think there will be more or less of these recreational players if all pros behave this way?

I'm a recreational player and I've backed out of returning to casinos because of all the regs that love to do anything they can to make the game unenjoyable for everyone. It's depression inducing to go there. And I say this as someone who takes poker as a serious hobby and have lots of incentives to go play. What about even worse recreational players who treat poker as just another table game they're willing to lose some money on? Would they rather play craps where they are treated well and there's a happy atmosphere? Or would they rather get berated by people like RBK?

Just want to say I just watched the YouTube clip of LATB Hand of the Day 8/31, and it was hilarious. I was just imagining what was going through Wayne's mind at the end lol.

I was happy to see I had 9 outs to chop!

Unfortunately, I missed.

Nice needle, Andy.

I've been a diamond subscriber of LATB for almost 3 months. Hardly played NL cash prior to signing up, but it's been a great learning tool and the commentary from Limon/Nichoel/Wayne has been extremely helpful. Most importantly it's made me feel much more comfortable sitting down in a local B&M playing 1/2 NL where my goal has been to have fun, think things out for optimal results / focus on plugging leaks for winning sessions. I stumbled across the platform when I discovered mutual Instagram followers/friends were LATB regulars (NYPoker King & bripoker)

Oh and...

Limon's weekly pokersesh is great entertainment too. Great insight into the game and knows a lot about life and not just poker. (Music, movies, food, wine etc.)

Just my 2cents from a rec player who sees a lot of value in LATB.

All of you ****s need to get over yourself. What happened, plain and simple, was a mistake, an error. No harm, no foul. Jonas did not, and never to my knowledge (and I played with him tons) ever angle shoot anyone. It got straightened out, why is this **** still going on 4 years later? Are you all so miserable you have to dredge **** up between Limon and RiverBoatKing well after the fact? Here's the scoop: From my take, and with the back story that Jonas never angle shot anyone, I view it as a complete goof. Now, let it fckn go!
