cada is pretty damn sick, sure he lucked out a few times but who hasn't. He got lucky on the biggest stage of poker at the right time, wouldn't say he's the worst ME winner ever. ESPN only airs the monumental hands that everyone bases their entire opinion on how someone plays. His online stats backup his skill.

Cada is pretty bad. It just shows that Poker is gambling and not a game of skill. Bad play wins everyday. Everycash game you go to there will be that bad player who wins. The pros have to grind it out. But everyday a lucky player wins. The game only has 52 cards. The worse champions in history in the modern era.

Cada, MoneyMaker and Jamie Gold.

Gold didn't really suck out with bad beats. He just flopped the joint everyday and made people call him with bad hands. He was good at making one call with the worse of it. I gotta give him that.

Pretty much fact that he's the best ME winner since Ungar, everyone else in between has been pretty bad. Funny because he makes super standard shoves and hits his 2 outer and he's bad.

In terms of luck, Chris Moneymaker or Jerry Yang or Jamie Gold, plz?

As much as this will get flamed, I do think Jerry/Jamie did play well in their own ways.

He played the worst of any WSOPME winner at a final table. And he was the luckiest at any Final table WSOPME I've ever seen.

Now overall I would take him over Jamie Gold. Based on what I saw of Jamie Gold on HSP, he's the worst WSOPME player ever. (Jerry Yang excluded, I have never seen him since his WSOPME where he was crushed with the deck).

Don't know how bad everyone else that has won this event is, but i don't see why you would say Joe Cada would be the worst ever?

He is good at poker, and with some luck he won this event, so what`

no one will ever win this event if they don't get lucky.

So many haters.....I still get flustered sometimes playing $25 nlhe in my boxers at home. Can you imagine making decisions on the biggest stage possible, looking at Phil Ivey across the table.Odds are good that i will never face that kind of pressure in my whole life. How can i criticize something i know nothing about

Let's be serious, you can't make the final table by only using skill, it's impossible
We have seen a few hands of Cada troughout the tournament and I must say they were pretty damn good played. But ever since the field was getting smaller, and the players didn't have to switch tables that often, his play kinda weakened. I think this was mostly visible at the final table when they were only 4-handed. His plays, I'm referring to the 22 and 33 were really weird. He was kidna short on chips to start the final table with, and I wouldn't have thought it was weird if he made these plays then, you got to obtain chips, and with the short stack, it's only natural you have to rely on flips, it's a risk you have to take then. But when it got 4-handed and he started doing it, it's not much of a good play. I thought the reraises were fine, but when the other player reraises, you gotta think your lowest pair can't be in good shape. And as it turned out twice, he was dominated and got lucky. But also, this is only what the aired episodes showed. We only saw a couple of hands, I mean we saw the "bad" plays with the 22 and 33, but only because they edited this way, as it's good sensation. I'm 100% sure he made some amazing plays as well which they didn't show us. I followed a solid part of the table via the live broadcasting, and it definitely is a whole different experience.

I gotta admit it tilted the life outta me seein him get that lucky for that amount of money. Don't get me wrong, i was happy for a young guy to win, and i even had a bit of money on him to do it cause the odds were good on him, but even at that he made some terrible calls that should have been easy lay downs.

its just brutal that with all the arguments about skill vs luck, and all problems over legislation in the US, and then how many million viewers see hand after hand come from behind for that kinda cash?

He has to be a decent player. He played poker for a living before he played that event. The lieks of yang, gold and hachem didnt play anywher near professionaly before their wins.Obviously cada was a better player than them when each won their title. Some of his plays on the final table were crazy but all respect to him for gettin there.Without alot of luck he wouldnt be the world champion now but he is but hes definitly not the worst ever, probably the luckiest ever.

The worst player? ... Not even close.

The luckiest player? ... Some people get ridiculously lucky early in the tournament, some people get lucky late. No matter what, you can't get through a 5000 player field without running on God mode at some point. Stop hating.

Yeah, Fowler, Yang, and Gold were pretty bad.

Didn't know that Hamilton was a particularly bad player. You have to wonder if he was a cheater live though based on what happened.

McEvoy is a pretty bad player. Was a nitty grinder when he won the ME.

Furlong, Moneymaker, and Varkonyi were all amateurs who played well and got lucky.

Understand Cada was a successful online cash player. He seemed a little reckless at the final table, which is better than being overcautious. He definately goes as one of the decent pros who won the ME.

probably the luckiest in the FT alone, and its not even close. he didn't play the best in the FT made a few mistakes but not massive mistakes

33 rejam very likely to be fine mathematically if u plug in icmizer against Shulman; 22 close, AJo bad call
but in terms of skill level and all roundedness in todays game among ME winners (not talking bout all time acheivements), hes def top 3-4 (close between him n duhamel/merson/jacobson)

There are very few sickos who can beat NL500+ and crush both live n online MTTs with high ROI%. some of the super high rollers, Fedor Holz, Duhamel could beat NL2k in old days not sure bout now, Charlie Carrel, Frenchdawg, and then its Cada; even Timex has a tough time beating NL500 (hes super super good obv)
