Yes because most people stack off with 99 when the board is KXX A K

lol wtf?

I agree with the guy that said Cada got his lottery ticket punched. There were 2 donkeys at the final table shoving blindly with crap hands, and luck took them to the end.

Coming from, what 2 million in chips, to winning the whole thing???
Yes, he was the luckiest final-table player ever to win, I think.
His 22, 33, 44 all hit sets???? I don't get 3 sets a night playing a thousand hands, much less when all-in behind... Then, he finally gets AA and gets doubled up by Moon, who obviously thought K9 was at least 2 overs compared to what Cada had been playing. And I forget what he had against Saout for that 88 Million pot.

But absolutely luckiest. In terms of suck-outs and delivering bad beats.

Worst?? Um.... How in the world could we measure this? I definitely don't think he's the worst. But then I have a ton of respect for anyone that gets anywhere near the final table of this thing. I suppose Jerry Yang had more missteps and still managed to pull it off. Plus, his final winning hand went from 54 - 46 to 7 - 93 dog to runner, runner victory.

Re: Joe CADA.... the luckiest/worst player ever win the WSOP!!???!!!

The reality is that all of Cada’s major pots were won with him being a severe dog, having pushed to raises with hands that were unlikely to have ever been the favorites (22, 33, AJ). At best coin flips. So whether or not he is the Svengali of poker when he gets online, he did nothing impressive at the WSOP final table that we were shown. He luckboxed it all the way. Good players can certainly luckbox too, although usually not quite this egregiously. He often looked like a guy who had given up -- as in, fine, I'll just shove it all in then, whatever -- and kept hitting miracles to save him.

That’s no reason to hate on the guy though. I only wish I ever ran so good when it truly mattered.

Re: Joe CADA.... the luckiest/worst player ever win the WSOP!!???!!!

if moon had won he'd of eclipsed yang as the worst me winner of all time

sure cada made some mistakes but you know it's impossible to play poker for over 5 minutes without making mistakes

i thought actually his bigest mistake was folding AQ heads up after 3 betting
i guess his reasoning was the last thing he wants to do is get it all in pre in a flip-ish situation vs darvin, when he can just outplay him post easily...

yeah he got lucky with the 2's and 3's but both plays were semi-standard

overall this kid is clearly good at the pokers and he'll be around for a while imo

it's nice to have a young gun win without autism !

For tax year 2009, the Federal Income Taxes on $8,500,000 are $2,952,684. When the Bush Tax Cuts expire on 01/01/11 the Federal Income Taxes on $8,500,000 earned in 2011 will be $3,343,670. Is Uncle Sam running a legalized extortion racket?

Re: Joe CADA.... the luckiest/worst player ever win the WSOP!!???!!!

Not the worst, but the luckiest for sure!

The most disappointing thing was that the pros trapped both finalists multiple times and lost each time. Both Moon and Cada tried to give their chips away and got rewarded for their mistakes.

You can talk all you want about ranges as equities, but the fact is those numbers have to be viewed in the context of the game you are playing. The FT of the WSOP ME is NOT and online STT, where you can simply fire up another tournament when you get knocked out. These players, at this FT, were not the online amateurs who make typical amateur mistakes.

The pro final tabelists, including Saout, recognize the once in a lifetime magnitude of the situation, and both Moon and Cada failed to factor that into their hand reading/decision making when making those ridiculous shoves with marginal hands. In each of the spots where the pros got their chips in, they could only have the monsters they showed down.

Both Cada and Moon made horrible misreads and overplayed their hands, just like a typically overaggressive amateur is prone to do. There was no fold equity in those spots because the pros were only only making those plays with legitimate monsters.

The fact that ESPN only showed a fraction of the hands does not change the story either. If you look at the online hand reporting, which I read during and after being at the event myself, you'd know that ESPN showed almost all of the important hands. Most of the hands they didn't show were not big hands because most never saw a flop and wouldn't have that had much effect on the outcome, other than to give reads on how each player was playing. And if you were paying attention, you'd know they were waiting for monsters to get their money in with!

Ivey and Shulman were playing ridiculously tight and were only going to make so many laydowns beore they took a stand with a big hand. The hands they're gonna show up with in those spots crush the 22, 33, AQ's, and AJ these guys got their money in with. I was actually surprised to see that Ivey laid down Jacks against Cada. How many times did Cada expect that to work, given how aggressive he was playing.

You can certainly argue that a high variance style is optimal against a table playing a low-variance, but the outcome showed that, in the long run, they would been sent to the rail 3/4 to 4/5 of the time. Live poker is a tighter game and when the big money goes in, they guys got a hand!

Pros got their money in good.

Cada and Moon got their money in bad every time, and got heads-up.

Sad.

Thing is, people say he got lucky with all the flopping of sets but would any of the hands have played out differently if they weren't allin preflop hands?

So Cada will only be allowed play Poker Stars from now on? (since he's become the latest "poker stars main event champ" eg signed on when he made FT)

Errr wat? Cada wasn't waiting to bust him, he was raising every single button, building big pots, making himself vulnerable to Moon's big check-raises. Moon very nearly ran him over playing big pot poker when Cada should've just been chopping away. I really didn't like his HU strategy. Must have nearly given Negreanu a heart attack.

(yes, I know that Cada would squash me, but that doesn't mean he played the heads up well.)

this.

im no hater , congratulations to him but he played like s-hite , his reading abilities are obviously zero.
He reminded me of your typical online fish whos made it to a final table probably for the first time in god knows how long and just contintues to ply bad and suck out.
All the other hands have been talked about lots but the 63 when he small raised the river vs Moon on the 489A4 board was horrendous even more so cos it left him crippled, Moons probably not folding K high there let alone a pair(another example of non existent reading of the situation).

almost nobody seems to get what he was trying to do here so i'll explain. he was not trying to fold moon off a pair, he was mainly trying to make moon fold all his missed draws, which is why he made the raise nearly as small as he could. if cada had KQ i think there's a very good chance he would have called the river, since he now beats nearly all those hands and doesn't have to raise to fold them out. with 63c though he was playing the board

flop was 489 two clubs, so there's a ton of missed draws darvin could have. and maybe he thought darvin would either lead or c/r turn with an A instead of c/c. bottom line is he wasn't automatically giving darvin credit for an A and he wasn't trying to get him to fold one. call that a misread if you want, but i promise that he knew what his raise was meant to accomplish. it's high variance and maybe not even particularly good but there's plenty of logic behind it

Re: Joe CADA.... the luckiest/worst player ever win the WSOP!!???!!!

Joe Cada is the epitome of donkeys, jack asses, morons, and anything and everything else that gives a disrespectful name to poker players around the world!!!! It was so pathetic, I watched the final table main event, on youtube. I would've rathered to be cut in half by Darvin Moon's chainsaw in Maryland, then to watch the rest after he knocked out Saout, with that pathetic hand, and the saddest thing was, you could even see the ignorance and stupidity on Joe Cada's face. I hope that no site, magazine, or any other company gives him any kind of exposure, contracts, or anything like that !!!!!!!! JUST PLAIN PATHETIC!!!!
