HSP Season 2 Phil Laak question

In the first session Laak wins about 200k and quits. He rejoins the same session later on and buys in for a regular amount. Shouldn't he have to buy in for the same amount he quit the game?
I can understand him buying in for a smaller amount when the game restarts another day but during the same session wouldn't players want a chance to win their money back?
