Say your bankroll is 20bi, and you're at a table and win 3bi, do you leave at some point since that is a good chunk or your roll? Or keep playing hoping to win more.

I assumed so since you're leaving value on the table if you're playing well. Thanks

having a stop win I don't think is a good strat. A time limit, or if you have 10%+ of your bankroll at 1 tables its a good time to leave. I've come to find out its a lot more +EV for me to have short multiple sessions through out the day whether I'm winning, losing, or leaving a really juicy table.

You should leave whenever you're not playing your A game. If losing a bunch of money causes you to play worse, set a stop loss. If winning a bunch of money causes you to play worse, set a stop win.

Of course the best thing is to always play your best, but be realistic about your limits.

I always go to the poker room with 2 buy ins. Some days you're the bug and other days you're the windshield. I know personally if I brought more $ to the room I'd continue to fight the good fight even, and sometimes it's just best to close shop and start new on another day.

only time I bring more than 2 bullets is when the room is holding a really good promo. it really drives in the bad players and taking a few bad beats tends to happen on these days, but the chips never stay with the bad players so it's +EV to stick around.

You should always try to stay when the table is 'right' for you.
You should always leave (or have a good chat with yourself) if you feel you are starting to play differently due to a deep stack.

Pick the days that you chip up quickly to take a shot at the next level, if available, thus not taking directly from your bankroll to test your skills.
Remember that you are only as deep and the next biggest stack .. or the 2nd largest stack in the current hand. Stay aware of what limits you are playing and if anyone else at the table is stepping up their game to try and come after your stack. GL

Having stop win/loss strategies are not good in theory but if you get tilted by losing too much or start playing scared because you win too much then you should do it. Whatever you need to do to stay on your A game.

This would apply to the vast majority of players for sure. It would also apply to a lot of semi-pros and wannabe pros who think they can play through big loss or big win situations without it affecting their game.

I always play cash games with a loss limit. Because losing big starts to tilt me.

I never have a win stop limit. If the table is great I will continue playing. But late at night when new players come to the table or the table breaks and I would have to go to another table I typically leave.

If the game is still good and I'm still making good decisions I am not leaving until one of those things changes.

Also, if you are up 3bi then chances are there are very few spots you will be exposing that entire stack.

Most people should have stop loss. Because they tilt when stuck big. No stop win needed.
