They want $10 a month for a couple of VODS of live streams. WTF are they smoking. The website is absolute crap, hard to navigate, and from what I can tell has about 3 or 4 different vods to watch some of it being many years old.

Yup, hopefully not many people actually pay for this...if people pay they will just keep doing it. When the players themselves start to get a piece of the money generated from viewers maybe i'll be more inclined to support this ****.

A. Run some ads. Is it that hard?
B. Twitch Subscribe button is another good way
C. Just make it free with optional donation button
D. (All of the above)

Any of those are far better options than what they did.

It's the principle of the thing...think of the WSOP main event which charges a rake to the players that play in it, but then goes and generates revenue by televising the play...

I agree.

What a joke $10 to watch a bunch of lazy 20 year old degens play a card game.

Looks like my days of watching WSOP events are over.

Honestly, it is only $10. Come on! For $10 the quality is really good. I see this becoming a success, the shows they have to offer is quite exclusive and its something people want to see live. For 10 bucks? lol, i throw 10 bucks on junk food every 2 days

Can anyone actually pause and rewind the live show?

is it just my browser?

I can on the iPad app as well as in Chrome but I can't on the Amazon Fire app

the site has some kinks but I like it and hope they are successful but it seems like they've got an uphill climb as consumers have a ton of options at lesser prices, so they better work out the kinks fast and get creative to bring in more subscribers

My main problem is the lack of coverage of the WSOP this year. WSOP.com streamed the final table of almost every event last year. The quality was poor at times and some of the streams had no commentary but at least your could watch. Now pokergo gets the rights to stream everything and is only planning on streaming very little and only one non nlhe event. I'd pay $10 for streams of all the events.

Seems like a lot of events are being streamed to me plus I count 3 non holdem events (in red below). I'm curious to see what the quality of the streaming will be like. If it ends up being as good as the SHRB, then its a HUGE improvement Imo.

Like most of us I could get into several reasons why this is failing and will struggle but I won't.

The one thing I will say is we have a final table with one of the Top 3 most "recognized" players in the world today and no coverage.

If anything you would think PokerGo would use this as an opportunity for a test run stream and give it to people for on twitch/FB/youtube,etc. and promote their product.

I'd expect some hiccups during those first few days of One Drop streams but hopefully they will get it stable before too long.

Evidently Phil had a one hour rant at the end of day 2 in the one drop but it's not on my stream. I was initially hoping for value for the $10 month over what we got from the free streams of the post, but if they can't provide the on demand coverage they promise, what good is it?

IOW, any option where others pay for the service so you can watch it for free is acceptable.

I would have paid the $10 to watch the One Drop only. The HD quality was perfect. Lon, Norm and the guests were great. Galfond was great. The feed would lag every now and then but NBD. If this is the only way to watch it "live" then so be it.

Yeh I agree, the coverage was awesome. Also I'm loving the vods and vault feature its super friendly for mobile and to be honest 10$ is super cheap.

I work for a cable company and although I'm not in sales paying for tv stations are expensive and I think this all around is the better way to go.

The only thing I don't like that I've heard about is apparently you have to call in to cancel your membership?

It's working good for me on android. I've got something I can watch on my break time at work.

I can pick up and go on the replays.

There was a wpt high Roller that I watched some of too. It was a good break from the wsop.

The guests have been pretty interesting too.

Phil Hellmuth said it "two of the best players ever and no live stream"

At least last year or three they'd pick up an important table impromptu even if it wasn't on the schedule.

Pokergo is a disappointment. They just don't seem to care about poker.

If a profit is not made streaming/televising poker, people will stop to stream/televise poker.

There would be nothing wrong with a business model that emulates Netflix or definitely HBO. I have both and couldn't tell you how much either one costs. I just pay them like a utility. PokerGo's management needs to think the same way - as a channel. Stream 24/7. New content, old content. They will fail if they only stick to occasional events and limited original programming (e.g. PAD reboot).

The type of customer that would make or break this business will be more likely to toss them ten dollars a month if they felt there was a steady diet of poker to be found - regardless of where else it might reside on the Internet.

I've been really enjoying the poker streaming so far. The Super High Roller Bowl and the One Drop coverage were excellent. The 10K heads-up had a couple of really entertaining matches. The commentary has sometimes been of very high quality, with a string of pros as guests, so far including Galfond, Schulman, Les, Berkey, and Hellmuth (for hilarity). Tuck does quality summaries of the action during breaks.

Yes, it's a bummer that more attention isn't being paid to non-NLHE final tables. Yes, some of the player interviews are cringeworthy. Yes, it costs ten whole dollars. Yes, a 2 minute phone call, a 30 second e-mail, or a click on your PayPal account will be required if/when you no longer want to watch the channel. But when the Main Event coverage starts on day 1, or when High Stakes Poker makes its comeback, there'll be a lot of poker fans disappointed that they haven't ponied up for the channel.

Looks like I spoke too soon and put my foot in my mouth. I've been away and not watching but I see they did put up video of the heads up from day 4 of the Omaha 8 10k that I don't think was on the schedule.

Kudos! Thanks for listening even when I'm being an ahole.

Max Steinberg commentary was brutal. I could not get passed his lispy _____ voice. I almost stabbed my eyeballs out with metal shishkabob skewers.

I hope that's his last one.
