I am going to Vegas again this year but instead of cash, I am going to give satellites a shot this year. The vig starts around 12% on the low $ STT's but is only 5% (or less) for the $175's and up which sounds great.

Questions.
I found a structure sheet from 2 years ago but have scoured the WSOP site for last year's and this years. Nada. Anyone have updated info. I found the chip counts and time of blinds, but not the progression of blinds.

Last longers? Good/Bad idea? I thought it would be a good idea because the STT's are very fast structures and a last longer will make players play counter to proper structure.

Time? How long does one usually last?

Chopping? I will have a bunch of cash on me, so I will be good with negotiating cash chopping if I can get an edge. Are most players up for chopping 3 ways/2 ways?

Taxes? Does anyone know the min amount that we need to pay taxes on in Vegas for tournaments? Also, because they pay out in lamers, are there taxe docs involved?

Does anyone have any ideas for practicing fast STT's? I like online hypers but other than ICM implications, I don't see how they would help. Any useful training sites or programs would be appreciated.

There is a new book called Poker Satellite Strategy by Dara O'Kearney. I believe it is endorsed by Collin Moshman who focuses on STT strategy himself. It might be worth your time to check out.
