Hi.

Any 6max SnG experts?

I have set up an example (image above) in the ICMIZER with 3 players left on the bubble in a 6max Pokerstars turbo SNG. All have 3000 chips which are 19bb at 80/160 (20 antes). And it shows that 99 is only 0.01(%EV).

That cant be right. I chose PokerStars/SNG/6-max Turbo option from the Tournament list on ICMIZER. Maybe a wrong ICMIZER setup?

But if it is right, what is the best strategy for bubble play? Steal a lot and call 3bet reshoves wider, or just fold a lot on the button and shove very light blind vs blind?

Well you do have it set with super tight calling ranges. But I don't understand how 55 comes out better than 99.

Those are Nash equilibrium ranges set by ICMIZER. And I agree. It cant bee that 99 is worse than 55-88. Has to be a problem with the setup.

It also seems strange that K4s > 99. And the jump from 99 to TT seems awfully big. So it might just be a glitch with the 99 ev - if I had to guess I would put it somewhere around .12.

Hi guys

Let me assure you that everything is calculated correctly here.

The situation is a little weird, it is not perfectly optimal for just push/fold strategy because our stacks are bigger than 15BB, but we got a bubble, and the calling ranges are ridiculous.

There is a button which explains everything what went into calculation the EV, it is located below the grid, on the screenshot we have A6o selected, so it reads A6o detailed result. You can check any hand that interests you to see how the EV got calculated and why in this case having 99 is less nice than having 88.

There are many surprising situations, I've recorded a vid where I answer a similar question, where someone believed that 99 being worse than 77 must have been a bug, but it wasnt: https://youtu.be/kzYl3z8rMlw There I demonstrate how to use this detailed result button to explain the seemingly unexpected result.

Thanks for the reply. I guess it kind of makes sense.

What is the best strategy for STT bubble play? Fold a lot of buttons. Raise/call strong hands and mix in some raise/folds? Push aggressively blind versus blind and call lighter AI`s on the big blind?

Or steal a lot from the button and then call wider 3bet AIns?

I understand that it might be very dependent on opponents and stack distribution, but in general. What is the most effective strategy?
