If I'm the 2nd shortest stack and the shortest stack is anywhere from, let's say, 3/4 of my stack to 1/4 of my stack, and he's playing very tight/nitty how should that affect my play? Should I be shoving slightly wider than GTO and calling slightly tighter? Should I adjust to play just as tight as he is? So often lately there are these 9-max spots where the stacks are 4,000, 3000, 1,200, and 600 with 50/100 blinds and I'm 1,200 and the 600 stack is playing so nitty I just don't know what to do. I just want to know what strategy is going to make the most money in the long term when this is taking place.

this question is too broad. Best to just load a few of these spots in HRC or ICMizer (website lets you do a few calcs for free per day). But if your serious about the game you should def purchase one of these programs.

Ok, so let's expand on my scenario.
CO: 600
BTN: 4,000
SB (Hero): 1,200
BB: 3,000

HRC says CO should be shoving 21.6%. Let's say he's only shoving 8% and also the bigger stacks aren't shoving on short stack's big blind often enough. In this situation HRC says I should open-shove 33.3% of hands. Also, it says I should call a BTN shoving ATC only with 88+, or 3.2%. How should either of these ranges of mine change based on the short stack not shoving enough or calling enough?

In that situation you generally want to tighten up aswell. You dont want to clash vs the bigstacks. Its complicated, especially when you say things like shortstack might be getting walks, shortstack might be able to shove into the way tighter bigstack than you... .

So, its hard to give a proper answer. Its probably somewhere between tighten up generally, sometimes shove looser, sometimes call the other shortstack wider than you "should".
