Hey all,

Got placed into a tough spot and would like people's opinion:

FULL HAND: https://play.globalpoker.com/gp/10/h...4b0566f29099fb

Global Poker $10 9-max - 60/30- 7 players left, with Top 3 paying

No Stats cause global =(

UTG+ 2: 5,165 (86BB and a LAG)
HERO (BTN): 1530 (25BB)
BB: 1110 (19BB)

SB posts 30, Hero posts BB 60

Pre Flop: UTG + 2 raises 180, Hero has Q10 on the Button, calls. BB completes.

Flop (Pot 570): 6102

UTG+2 bets pot: 570

Hero?

---------------
Notes: UTG Villain can have a wide raising range pre flop, but the full pot bet on the flop stumped me. With 1350 behind, I am basically all-in if I call.

Lose to a small but decent amount: All overpairs, few sets, and mostly K10/A10 (all combos are in his raising range). I also do not know if this pot size bet is a strong move or just a bully tactic.

There is some ICM to consider, and I dont really know what range I am up against here. Maybe overthinking and with 7 players this is just a shove?

IMO: Jam/Fold > Call but not sure if Jam = Fold.

With 25bb to start, you have no business calling a 3x raise from early position (even from a lag).
As played, I don’t like folding a hand this strong. I don’t love it but I think shoving is slightly better than calling.

definitely shove as played. Looks like a really bad call preflop though.

I would definitely not fold.

@Colinb7 and Joshfan, I am always quite unsure if I should call or shove in these spots. Why would shove be better in this situation? Protecting a bit of equity vs overcards?

We're just too short to call, we have 1350 and villain bet 570 into 570.
What would be the reasoning behind calling? hoping for a safe turn to get it in on? folding bad turns?
If we call, then folding on any turn is disastrous for us.

Yes I agree with you that calling flop and then folding turn would be pretty bad. And with these stacksizes it maybe doesn't matter too much, but a reason to just call is to keep Villains bluffs in his range. With shoving, sure he might call worse Tx, but might fold out lower hands.

As I said, maybe he is gonna call anyway for example 6x cause Villain will feel he is pot committed, but imagine stacks are just slightly larger or Villain would bet 1/2 -2/3 pot?
