Ciao lads,

I was wondering if there is another section where you're allowed to post single table tournament S&G hands. This subforum is a lot less active than some of the other subfora and some of the advice that's being given is downright poor. Don't get me wrong, there's definitely a lot of useful help being given as well, but I frequently see posts where I don't think OP is been sufficiently helped out.

Let me know!

Hands I think not. But you can do stuff like discussing theory in the theory subforum. Or talk about player frequencies in the psychology forum...

However, Id hope you post some hands here. This forum wont get more active if people like you dont become active aswell. I also want you to consider this, the reason why I post very rarely and most advise is basic is hell, is because there is few to properly interact with.

A lot of threads arent even HHs. The ones who are often miss crucial information or already signal that OP wants an easy answer. A lot of OPs wont come back to their thread and ask for clarification or more details or what to do if x happens or if he had done y.

Give me an interresting spot or ask good questions, make some good assumptions... show me my time (it can take A LOT of time to make a proper post) isnt wasted. And you will recive very good feedback! Maybe not always (Im not always reading or have the time for a proper response (because these take time!)), but often.

I think it's just a reflection of how overall online poker traffic is declining year by year. These games are pretty much solved and with the high rake, little/no rakeback and very few fish, no one wins but the house. Also people latched onto the fact that discussing strategy in public just makes the games tougher for everyone. Sad times indeed.

But this doesn't stop people posting hands. I'm sure you can get some decent discussion going here. There's the beginners forum for posting hands and even the MTT forum probably wouldn't mind you posting there (if you explained why you posted there). Failing that, there's study groups if the advice here isn't good enough.

Also look at the sharkscope leaderboards year by year and see how people are generally making less and less money Not saying this should put you off improving your game, but just stating the facts.

Making less than 5 years ago does not equal "only the house wins".

I wouldn't say you are stating the facts at all.

Oh and also,

As for the games being solved... zzz that's just nonsense your regurgitating from somewhere. Do you even know what solving a SNG entails??

Obviously my original post was hyperbole, not to be taken quite so literally. But the general trend is that it becomes tougher and tougher to make a good living in these games, for a variety of reasons. Almost no one makes 6 figures and only a few dozen people in the entire world are making a livable western world wage, if we go by what sharkscope tells us.

Ok

I also would have suggested posting in the mtt thread as an alternative, but I think ronni mahoni makes a good point. This forum will simply suffer more if ppl do. Also ppl need to use real hhs more lol

Obviously the game isnt what it used to be anymore and that the forum isnt as alive anymore is ofc a direct result of that.

However if I compare sttf 2009 to 2018, there is a major difference. And it has nothing to do with volume, eventho obviously there is a lot less.

Back then, Id say 90+% of the posts were made by a rather small group of regs. We even called each other sttfregs. Now Im not that active anymore, but if I ask you who are the sttfregs now, what would your list look like? Would you even be able to make one?

I could make a list with 50+ people, some among the best players in their respective games back then, some among the best now.

This is the major difference.

You guys remember the sttf-sngs? Yes we used to do things like that...
Do you guys know what a pooh-bah post is or even a millenium-strat post?

Just look at this beauty. It was one of the last of its kind... sadly. This is the kind of work, effort & love people used to put into this forum.
