No stats on villain.

I have been at table for approx 3 orbits. In that time villain has been very active/aggro. Frequently 3 betting to 4x, 3rd time I have seen him overbet pot but haven't seen him get to showdown.

x/r ott felt like either a set or FD. Seems like an easy fold vs other opponents but tough against this villain. Is it mad to be considering a call here??

Against this player type, I'm more likely to play this as a marginal showdown hand, as he is likely have a high bluff range. Yes, having the spade draw increases the equity, but you have the choice here: use it as a marginal showdown hand and check or turn it into a bluff.

Against this specific villain, I think using the marginal showdown value is better.

What is more likely with this villain, that he bluffs with weaker hands or that he folds better hands?

barely a tough spot, on the river this hand is very close to the bottom of your range given his turn raise sizing.

Even though its clear he can`t expect to bluff naked missed stuff this way profitably its still assumptive to think he should be interested to run a huge spew vs you in that turn/river spots on specific texture/runout.

Anyway I think your hero hand should at least contain Tx or be trips+.

Seriously dislike the turn bet, our hand plays much better as a check-call turn/decide river. Not sure I like the call of the raise very much, seems like we should have better hands in our range to call especially vs. that turn sizing.

As played this becomes an easy fold river, as this hand isn't even that great of a bluffcatcher.

Turn is def a x/c vs this specific player. Lets let him barrel now vs a perceived weak range that has checked twice, don't see many rivers id be folding either given his wide range. Lets try to get to a cheap showdown now instead of not closing ott to active v.

As played, turn call is marginal but proly ok given how deep we are and the likelihood of v firing another shell and we can have a x/r range otr. River is fold as played, we have better hands in our range to call here.

^^^

Additionally, flush draws that can be profitably check called on turns are valuable. Goofballs like me have been known to blast flushed rivers thinking OOP always probes or x/r draws on the turn.

I don't really see what bluffs villain has here. He sounds like a reasonable player. I'd have to give him credit for a hand here and fold. Check turn as well.

Missed spade draws, 96s, 97s are all reasonable.

Not saying he bluffs enough for a call, just saying that there are missed draws in his hand the way the hand played out.
