The state of STT in 2019 The state of STT in 2019

Hi everyone!

I would like to ask what is the current state of affairs regarding STT (mainly 9-max but others as well). And while I can only play on Party Poker atm, info for PS is very valuable as well.

Given the new release of ICMIZER 3, your info would be very much appreciated.

Thank you for your replies.

If you check out Sharkscope you can see that the state of SNG's are declining on pretty much every site year by year. There's still profit to be made in them of course but if you're looking to make some real money I'd look at cash games/MTT's. This to me is less to due with the games being inherently difficult, but more to do with the removal of rewards/rakeback programs that have killed the games at higher stakes and have created a situation where traffic only really exists at the $30 and lower level. When you scroll through some of the Stars $15 SNG's at various formats for example, you will find players who regularly played far higher.

Having said that, it appears Party Poker has created a pretty cool rewards program with actual good rakeback. For now it's the only major network currently doing so, so I would imagine that would start to bring some traffic back along with the potential of making some real money.

What would you recommend as a studying tool for STT in 2019? Are there good software/videos to learn from?

I recently started playing STTs again for the first time in years. One format I really like are the knockout turbos on Pokerstars. The bounty format adds a new element to the old nitty STT format.

I have half a handful of random STT vids up on youtube but they aren't particularly comprehensive.

One would think. Unfortunately, that has not been the case at all. Very few $50 6-max turbos run, almost no $100's. Can get the odd $20 to pop. Double or nothing traffic seems okay but lolDONs

The reason why the games don't run on party is because you can't see who's in the lobby. Everybody knows that the Russkis and Vamoooos will wreck your win rate when they go super saiyan on your ass on the bubble and take you out. It doesn't matter if you've got the bullets, the king kong bundy, or the seven dewey. You will not beat a vamoooo or a Russki in an all in on the bubble. Their hands get a 30% boost on the bubble, so AA is 55/45 vs their 73o instead of 85/15, and your AKs is just dead against them. You definitely need to table select stts to avoid the Russkis and vamoooos to maintain your winrate, and this is why the games aren't as popular on party.

Again, there is a specific "poker is rigged" thread in the Internet Poker forum available for this content, please keep it out of the STT Strategy forum
