Hi guys, please help settle this one.

You're in a satellite with 10 places paid, you're 13/14 with 5.5bb and it's folded around to the SB, a thinking reg, who is 3/14. He shoves, what is your calling range here?

I don't have info on the other stack sizes as it wasn't me playing this hand but for me the fact that in 2 hands time you'll have 4bb left and likely be sitting at the bottom of the pack 4 from the money widens the calling range here. I would like have it at something like Ax,Kx,Q8+,J8s+,J9o+,T9s,22+.

Cheers.

Im not an expert on satellites but I would be a bit tighter.

Well, you need info on the other stack sizes to know your calling range here, so the debate is not going to be settled.

Running a quick rough simulation with a presumption of average stack being around 10bbs which is probable for live (online average stack would be about a tenth of an ante ), the calling range comes out at 25% which was my initial ball park thought.

44+,A2s+,A5o+,K5s+,KTo+,Q8s+,QTo+,J9s+

Obvs that's based on shover being on any two.

Obviously, it all depends on the shortest player's stacksize (and a little on his position)
If you can outlast him, so that he has to commit first, then sandbagging is recommended.
If it is close, I would call with 99+, AQ+
If he has less than half your stack, you want to be extremely tight.
If he has ~1-2bb you can even make a point for folding AA. KK for sure.

So we are in BB, and we have 4.5 bb after posting right ? SB shoves ?

Probably calling like 70-75% of hands. 25% is waaaaaaaay to tight.

Correct Adriang. We are 13th out of 14 with 10 seats, not 13 seats, so I can't see how KK is definitely a fold!?

Sorry, completely wrong track there.
For 10 seats, it is pretty standard but still interesting.
HoldemResources cannot handle this 2 table spot, but here is an example for 10 players, 6 seats. Still pretty tight at only 27%
https://www.holdemresources.net/nash...&bb=100&ante=0
If we move to 10 Players, 7 seats instead it gets extremely tight in calling only TT+ !!!
If all other players have pretty large stacks, it tends in the direction of 60-70% however.
So it really critically depends on other players!

Also note, that the standard calling range (without the bubble) is at 74%, so under no circumstance is your range getting wider when approaching a bubble!

This model implies that the other players will be pushing normally in the future. I would be very interested in any information concerning the fact that most live tables push way too tight and how to adjust there...

I don't know why you would be calling differently than Nash with a 5BB stack... I know that there are some "ICM" considerations but still, you're at 5BB and sometimes you just gotta go for it... Just call with a 5BB Nash range here and you should be fine math wise. Not every scenario has to be a like splitting hairs you know...
