Hi everyone, this is my first post on the forum and I hope I didn't miss any relevant rules about posting new threads.

I just wanted to get your opinion about a simple hand I played today:

***

£12 live tournament, 25 buy-ins, most of the players slightly on the loose side, first 3 places paid.

By that time we are down to 1 table, 8 players. No antes.

I have 15.5BB, players in the blinds have about 20-30BB, I think I cover or almost cover everyone else.

My hand: I'm on the high jack with JJ.
Action: UTG+1 limps (he also has about 15BB if I remember correctly).
The action is on me. Should I:
A) Raise All-In
B) Raise to 4xBB
C) Raise to 2-3xBB
D) Limp? (probably not)

My decision: Raise All-In (everyone ended up folding).
My reasoning: JJ is vulnerable, it will be hard to play if a higher card appears on the flop. With players on the loose side, there is little chance that they would fold to a min-raise. Since there was a limp before me, I pick up 2.5BB if everyone folds.

On the other hand, very few hands have better equity than JJ, so by shoving I might lose some value from inferior hands like Ax or weaker pairs that could have called.

Thoughts? I guess with 15.5BB in my stack it's probably borderline.

Its close for sure. In online poker, most regs would just shove it, its highly profitable and easy to play.

Raising might be more profitable, but it takes some skill to fully realise that potential.

Shove it. Its a £12 live event, so you are likely to get some very loose kills compared to a higher buy-in (no one is folding AJ or 88 at that buy-in level and some might look you up with a weaker Ace or pair as well).

Sorry that nobody had anything, but picking up 2.5BB is not a terrible outcome!

JJ is not the hand to get cute with. Easy shove.

Btw: A or C other options are horrific

How can it be an easy shove while shoving is a horrific option? Perhaps you meant D?

A, or C if you think you'll get a 3bet out of the blinds so you can shove over (you mentioned table is loose).

I'll go with option (b). Unless you're either uncomfortable playing against the limper post-flop, or your own cards post-flop. Then shoving is fine. But I think with these stack sizes and payouts, I'm not inclined to overshove here.

4xBB with 15 BB behind basically commits you to the pot, so it has to be either option A or C.

You're right. I'd go with C then.

But it is a low buy-in and shoving seems okay here because you'll get A9s and 66 to call often in a game like this.

Easy shove, "thank UTG for the extra 1bb" the blinds are only gonna call you with a good range of which you are in the top 5%. they are only gonna call because you hut/cripple them. His utg limping range, probably contain a lot of unders and Ax, most of which have 3 outs to JJ. This is the less experienced play, and you're likely only getting those 2.5bb

Raise to 4, play post-flop if you think you'll win more chips
