I played the $590 + $60 rebuy tournament here in Jax Fl for the 2018 WSOP 14k package. There was a field of 227 players and 14 places got the package. Package included nights paid at the Rio also food and $2000 cash and the 10k ticket to the main. I made it to 19th after playing for 9 hours. It was around 3am and there were 2 tables left. We had just moved to the final 2 tables so I didnt know how most of the players played. Blinds were 16000 34000 and I had around 10 BB. I was delt Kd10d in middle position and raised 3x and the guy next to me shoved. I folded. Here is were I played bad, I was delt 7s7c and I just called and didnt raise. It was me and the big blind. The flop was 5c5d8h big blind bet 50k and I went over the top for around 250k. He was in the tank for about 2 mins then he called. I knew I was ****ed then. He flips over Js8s and the turn and river was brick brick. What are ya'll thoughts on this I know I should've raised pre or go all-in thats where I feel like I messed up at.

As a total fish, not sure I'm qualified to answer. But I think the biggest mistake was opening 3x from a 10BB stack instead of just opening jamming it or calling the shove. Its practically the same as 77 (ish).

What position were you in?

And for 77s your goal is to raise and steal the blinds. Not to flip or to limp and play postflop 10BBs deep.

def not open folding 30% of my stack. Fold pre or jam. It's a fold fwiw given the flat structure. Probs a jam in reg mtt. Same with 77.
