With a $50 br I would play the $1.75 9 man turbos or the $1.10 double or nothing turbos.

What is a reasonable ITM % in the 45man at Stars ($6.5) ?

@springsteen: did you gave up playing FR?

It depends on your style of play. I looked at the top 5 players on the SC leaderboard and filtered them for the 6.50s. Their itm% ranged from 16%-19%.

I did not know that you cann look up also the ITM% on SC. I already thought tha they are pretty low but that still suprised me a bit that they are that much lowert compared to 9`s or 18`s. Thank you for the info.

Oh, but you know SNG can be a lot more swingy than FR I do not really reget my decision to quit FR but sometimes I miss the low variance there....

I have a question for those who have a lot of experience with STTs. Ive been playing the 16s, and in the last 2 days, ive played about 120 games, and im down about 33 BIs..Pretty brutal for 16s IMO, but I'm trying to figure out if this is a standard downswing. I'm guessing this cant be something that happens often.. but its just pretty sick that I can lose that much in such a short period of time. Can anyone who has played like 15k+ STTs give me an idea of what the variance is like at these games? Much appreciated.

MinSix that is super standard, 20-30 buyin swings both ways are very very typical. Grinding 6.50 9s I once lost 67 buyins in a day, many thousands of games later I also won about 60 buyins in a day. If you're playing well and in a reasonably soft game don't expect too much variance over the course of a month (notice most $16 9m graphs are like lines..) but day to day the swings can be fairly significant.

I just started taking online poker seriously the past month and i have been mostly playing the 300 chip ultra sngs but doing much better in the 1500 chip also 6 handed sngs? Do I have a big enough sample? (My roi dropped 4 percent in the last 100 games for some reason) Should i purchase some sort of HUD. Any other advice would be appreciated.

Name is MADCROATIAN on AP

Sorry don't know how to link sharkscope graph.

any advice would be greatly appreciated

If 100 games is making a big difference in your roi, no you don't have a big enough sample size. Yeah getting a HUD is useful if you multi-table. Read the FAQ, keep practicing, and post hands histories here often.

Thanks for the response Tomo, I guess I'm underestimating the variance a bit. It also makes sense given how many solid winning regs there are playing the 16s.

Just to follow up on your response, how typical will this be? For example, lets look at someone who grinds 150-200 games per day , 5 days / week = 750-1000 games, 3000-4000 games / month. How often should someone like this expect to have decent daily downswings of 35+ BIs. I understand we should expect upswings as well. Seems like turbo STTs are much more swingy than I thought, is the variance associated with too many winning regs at the table? Seems like so many guys are grinding the 16/27s these days.

I have recently begun playing SNG's again and I am setting up my HUD and tracking software. I was wondering about aggression factor. What would the ranges look like for passive, neutral and aggressive? Not sure if it matters but I am playing low buy-in 9man turbo SNG's.

Hi wondering where is the best place to learn about ICM, website or book either is good, I want to know the maths behind the plays, not just shoving ranges, I would like to know how the ranges and EV are calculated.

thanks

It doesnt say, other than the fact that its using a basic ICM calculator...

$100 prize pool (50/30/20)
After all - 1st prize is $50, but with 3 players still in the game it is not realistic to assume player 2 will always take 1st place here! Using a basic ICM calculator we can find out exactly what the equity is for each of the 3 players.
Player 2: 5000 Chips - $38.33c Equity
Player 3: 2500 Chips - $30.83c Equity
Player 4: 2500 Chips - $30.83c Equity

Hey dude, welcome back. Zen here. Aggression factor is a function of VPIP, so you can't just say x is aggro, y is passive. Someone who plays 55/10 and has an AF of 2 is much more aggro than a 16/9 with an AF of 3 (both reasonably aggro). You get a feel for it in time. If you use percentages, well, I don't, so I can't help, but I'd just compare them with my own. Remember though, AF doesn't converge all that quickly unless players are pretty loose.

You can post multiple hands in a thread if you want. I beleive there is a rule of three threads per day.
