I'm a noob broke l0ser who can only afford to play $1.25 turbos on Full Tilt.

MSN: matthewtobias.school AT gmail DOT com
AIM: SCCFaust

I'm a solid winner on low limit STTSNGs from Pokerstars and on Full Tilt (for the short while I've been here). My lack of man chili keeps me from staying and grinding, which leads me to go broke on HUSNGs or PLO so I find myself constantly building a roll on STTSNGs. So now I want to try to take this a step further and just stick to one game and improve it. Need someone to talk to <3.

Hey all,

I am looking for someone to do sweat sessions. (skype/teamviewer)

Background: I have played online for about 1 1/2 years and have found that my niche is in SNGs. Started at $5 SNGs about 2 months ago and have moved up to $20 SNGs (9 man non turbos) where I am a regular on the site I play on and I would say the majority of the players now know me. I typically play 9 at a time and make the leaderboard on the site I play every week and month. My ROI is only at 14% over 600 games (small sample I know) but I feel I need to plug some leaks to get it up to around 20% where I would like to be!

I play a fairly straightforward and tight style until I get to that 12bb or lower shoving range spot. I feel fairly confident in my game but I feel where I am lacking is 4 handed and lower. I feel that I am playing way too tight at this stage and need some serious work on my calling and shoving ranges on the bubble.

I have taken the SNGEGT quiz multiple times and I never do all that well at the 4 handed situations. The problem is that I don't know the reasoning behind why some plays are folds and some are calls.

I have watched and re-watched all of the Jackals vids and any new SNG vid that comes out on CR. I am a regular in this forum although I don't always post and I am on CR quite a bit as well.

I feel that watching others and people watching me could help us both out and give me a better sense on where I need to improve.

If you are interested please reply on this forum. The more the better...maybe a study group? FYI, I am a 27 year old salesman so I have the 9 to 5er and only play at night...unless it's the weekend of course.

Thanks, Bob

I notice most posts on here focus primarily on 9 handed sngs and I would like to see if there are enough interested people to get a thread or discussion going on specifically 6 max play. If this applies to you respond in the thread and hopefully we can get something going.

I tried to make a new thread but the mod moved it into this one. HorvatH i know from Stars and I think it would be really good for all of us if we can get together once in a while through AIM or another medium and discuss hands and concepts and whatnot. If you are interested PM me and you can message me on AIM at yo730457.

Mods - there is seemingly some interest in this outside of the general study group thread, would you possibly reconsider allowing this to be its own thread?

I don't understand why it needs its own thread. This whole forum is a study group, and 6-max threads are just as welcome as anything else. Double or nothings had their own thread because it was a new game.

Just post 6-max hands and label them as such, and if a group wants to make a concerted effort to respond to each other's 6-max hands, great. If you have a 6-max theory post, then make a thread for it.

Is there something else besides hands and theory I'm missing?

Yeah I just kind of feel like 6 max posts are few and far between and there are clearly a group of players who would prefer to focus on strictly 6 max. My intention was to start up an initial 6 max study group thread, build up a small list of players who would be interested and go on from there independent of the forum while still discussing the 6 max posts that show up.
No disrespect intended Beerocrat.

no disrespect taken. I guess I just don't understand why this group of players that want to study 6-max doesn't just start posting lots of hands and discussing them. If you want to get a group off forum, organize it in this thread, imo.

I really want to find a study partner that I can sweat with and talk about stratagey with at the 12$ Turbo level on FTP. I had someone I was doing this with on DC, but he got bored of SnGs and poker in general I think so he's moved on.

I don't post much here, but I am semi-active on DC, although atm I havent met anyone else playing the 12$s over there.

EDIT: Feel free to hit me up on skype (carldawson1) or PM me here. Anyways im sure I've made some pretty donkey plays against some of the 2+2ers on this forum as I know some of you play these regularly. I definitely have some leaks that need shoring up, but overall I play a winning game (I think...)

Anyone who wants to talk and share ideas, PM me for my AIM or MSN. I just started to get into the 3.40/9 man but if you play the 18/27/45 thats fine. I just need some people to talk strategy with over certain situations or have sweat sessions.

Im not much of a forumguy so I haven't posted here and just registered but I have been a lurker for many years. At the moment Im playing the 16s full time but I have played 27s and 60s in the past. I have a positive roi between 6-10% for all levels except the 60s where I couöd never do much better than break even when I took a shot two years ago. I can make a living at this level since I play 20 tables but Im always trying to improve to a better player and I think I should be able to get to 10% roi at the 16s and like 8% maybe at the 27s.

My problem is that all my poker buddies ar cashgame players so now Im looking for other players playing levels between 6,5s and 60s who likes to have heavy theory discussion on all sngtopics, exchanging ahk-scripts, maybe making videos for each other to get detailed comments, anything that helps me(and you of course) to improve.

Please contact me on AIM: IseeBrokePeople2 or send me a PM here.
