PokerStars - 800/1600 Ante 200 NL - Holdem - 7 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4: http://www.pokertracker.com

MP: 1.89 BB
CO: 41.68 BB
BTN: 8.28 BB
SB: 23.28 BB
BB: 58.14 BB
UTG: 25.24 BB
Hero (UTG+1): 19.9 BB

7 players post ante of 0.13 BB, SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 2.37 BB) Hero has Js Kd
fold, Hero raises to 2 BB, MP calls 1.76 BB and is all-in, fold, fold, fold, BB calls 1 BB

Flop : (7.14 BB, 3 players) Ts 2d Td
BB checks, Hero checks

Turn : (7.14 BB, 3 players) Ad
BB checks, Hero bets 1.66 BB, BB raises to 7.5 BB, Hero raises to 17.78 BB and is all-in, BB calls 10.28 BB

I guess pre-flop KJo w/ 20bb can be folded. Any thoughts post flop? Bet on turn rationale was partially to steal the dead money but also getting him to call w/ weaker diamonds.

Yes fold pre.

Postflop I'm checking behind on turn too. You have showdown value against his wide range and with the Kd you don't want to get x/raised off your equity. I'm happy to see a river for free there.

BB is the big stack, so you have to be very careful. I don't think you should bet the turn. You have K high, so you have showdown value. Also the side pot is empty. Why bet then? Best play postflop is checkfold.

What is your thought process on the turn exactly when there's already someone all in so you have to win at showdown still (for antes and not just the side pot)?

Pre is fine, with those stack sizes you cannot fold KJ off. Turn is a mistake.

Pre is std, but I actually think this is a cool limp spot. I'd cbet flop. As played I'd check again OTT.

I'm not sure this turn bet/sizing accomplishes what you think (ex. diamonds aren't making a mistake by calling: 5.3-1 /~19% direct odds.)

What would possibly make that a cool limp spot?

Stack distribution, ICM, how we may want to construct our range at this depth, etc. In terms of basic strategy, limping allows you to play more hands. Instead of you folding you can now vpip.

None of this explains why it's a good play in this spot. Playing KJ oop multiway can't be +ev.

PF looks fine although we have to be tighter than usual opening into the big stack's bb. KJ still too strong to fold 7 handed.

You should play Australian Rules football with that turn punt tho.

There is no point really to taking a small stab on the turn. Stab the flop if you want to the bb to fold his live card equity. We have plenty of showdown value to check down and there is no side pot.

3bet shoving turn is just fancy play syndrome. Are you are not getting near enough folds to be 3bet shoving KJo combos. Maybe you can bluff shove with your royal flush draws to balance your Tx+ value shoves.
