HEM do this automatically or did u do some filter? If so can u explain that?

Re: Discussion of HUD use for SNGs

I've read this entire thread, I'm using HEM ATM and wondering the best place to put the stats layover. There just doesn't seem to be enough room to see cards, pot and stack amounts THEN overlay the stats. Any thoughts? Also, I'm always having to spend a few minutes figuring out whose stats belong where because if I'm sitting at seat 5, it's not uncommon for my stats to show up around seat 9. Is that normal for HEM?

Thanks

GodSmackJack,
in lobby you need to tick your preferred seat 9handed, and tick the same place in hem options and you'll have stats at the right place

Re: Discussion of HUD use for SNGs

I play on full tilt and my HUD stats are right underneath each player's name. The font size is really small and I only have 1 row because with 2 rows or more, it starts blocking cards or chip stacks. Here's what my stats look like:

VPIP/PFR/Steal Raise%/Fold to steal%/Hands

They are not labeled, only color coded. If there's still too much clutter, you can always just have VPIP and PFR like some people mentioned way earlier.

It's all about what you can fit efficiently and effectively while playing your desired # of tables. The drop down boxes work great for having other key stats that you don't need on the screen at all times. Obviously you can get pretty creative and do more if you don't play a lot of tables.

PSA: I'll let this thread go for a little while so it can be FAQ worthy, so don't derail please.

Limp fold is rly useful to decide when to shove on a limped pot and pick up the dead money.

Re: Discussion of HUD use for SNGs

SNGs are mostly preflop / flop games, so mys tats are limited to those

Line 1: Name / Hands
Line 2: VPIP, PFR, Total AFq
Line 3: Att to Steal, Fold BB to Steal, 3bet preflop, fold to 3bet pre, Cbet Flop, fold to Cbet

I play 4-8 tables at a time on either my 17" laptop or 20" office computer.

I use the Att to Steal number to resteal from the blinds, and I also decide whether to flat pre based on c-bet numbers. Any post-flop numbers are mostly worthless because you don't collect enough hands on people for it to matter, and even if you had enough hands, there are no real room to employ strategies after the first three levels when the average stack is 40 or less BBs.

Re: Discussion of HUD use for SNGs

This is what I use:

VPIP/PFR/AF/HANDS
3BET/Fv3BET/CB/FvCB
BBFvSteal/SBFvSteal/SBSteal/BTNSteal/COSteal
M/BB'S

This is very helpful to me although I do have a question. I would like to know exactly what the averages are for FvSteal and Steal. I have a pretty good idea just from playing so much with the hud running but I was wondering if anyone knows where there might some information on the averages. Is there possibly a way to figure out the average of everyone you have played through HEM? There must be but I can't figure it out.

I use seperate panels in HEM so that I can move the PlayerName line from the HUD over the players name in the poker client. Having name in the HUD may seem superfluous but HEM has a nice feature that lets you color-code the player name according to how many big blinds they have in their stack. This is very helpful for multi-tabling.
how do you do that? I mean separate panels in HEM

Re: Discussion of HUD use for SNGs

hey guys i have a question too
I use PT3 and doesnt offer the ability to change the hud profile with blind levels range.
For example when blinds are bigger than 100-200 (BB>200) i want to have a new hud profile because players SHOULD play entirely different. But PT3 can only have a hud profil either for all the blinds levels or for ONE blind level which sucks.
So i decided to have a new hud profile for every time we are 5handed from 9 handed.
I think it is close when the blind levels are 100-200 in Pokerstars SNG
What do u think for my move? Should I change it to 4 players?

Re: Discussion of HUD use for SNGs

These are probably fairly newbie questions but:

Are there any HUDs that calculate ICM/ev numbers and pot odds/outs? I heard tournament indicator does things like this, is it good? Is it appropriate for SNG?

For poker tracker which I use, I have the following questions:
+ I'm using the call % stat - does this give a good indication of how often an opponent will call a raise and the range of hands they will call on or is it a waste of time?
+ Should I be using AF or AFq?
+ Is preflop limp % good stat to use? I think it will help with working out the hand ranges? Is the difference between low and mid/high blind play too big to make this stat effective, especially at finding HBL's? Should I use that combined with preflop limp fold which shows how often they fold to a preflop raise after limping?

I'm also using a stack size in BB stat that isn't included in poker tracker but you can download it from their forum because it will make calculating stack sizes much easier.

Re: Discussion of HUD use for SNGs

you can see how often one is limping in the difference between VPIP and PFR, call% you don't need really if u have the AgressionFactor, use the AF, it's standard

Re: Discussion of HUD use for SNGs

Using ICM calculators during play breaks the terms of service of both stars and Tilt, as well as most sites I imagine. This is why sngwiz will automatically shutoff or not start if a client is detected.

Does anyone have an opinion or experience with Tournament Indicator?

Re: Discussion of HUD use for SNGs

Any super turbo grinders ITT? I use vpip/pfr and individual steal stats plus fold to steal from bb. Im looking for a new stat that will let me know how likely villains are to exploit my 3x raise when we have like 15bb effective stacks. 3bet %? Resteal %? I guess you can tell by their general stats how saavy they are, but itd be really nice to know whether i can profitably 3x when i have a couple 4-8BB stacks and 1 15bb stack when Im semi deep(super turbowise).

How do you think they feel about the bubble hands I occasionally smash through Nash?

Re: Discussion of HUD use for SNGs

I use VPIP/PFR/STEAL/3B/HANDS.
For Pop-up, I use HEMs default preflop, default steal, and the HEM Tourney/SNG thing where you can see how they play different stack sizes in different positions (for example what % they shove from the CO with 7-9BBs, or from the button with 10-14BBs, or 6-4BBs etc.).

For me, the HUD is pretty important.
I think it makes a pretty big difference in order to get an idea of different players ranges in different spots.

Re: Discussion of HUD use for SNGs

Hi, sorry if this is an old thread that I'm bumping, but I've just been directed here by a mate.

I'm new-ish to hem, and currently trying to set up a Hud for 90/180 player turbo sngs.

I'm interested in this idea of seeing the stats according to the number of players at the table, it's been said a few times already but obviously it's very important....

Wondering if anyone can help me out on how to do this? I'm quite familiar with HEM now having set up a couple of huds, but never seen an option to do this anywhere.....

tia, Moose
