Hello,

So the Local Casino is running a tournament tonight that they are calling a "Deepstack Event" they rarely host any tournaments over a 100 dollar buy in and their structures are usually horrible so I don't play them and stick to cash. This evening I feel like playing some tournament action and was pondering whether I should buy in?

375 Buy in - 300 going to the prize pool
Casino will put $15,000 on top of the prize pool
Limiting tournament to 100 players
7500 starting stack
20 minute blinds
blinds start at 25-50

What are your thoughts, is there value in playing in this tournament.

$75 rake is comedy but if the casino is adding $15k then yes you should play.

Ended up playing there was 45k in the prize pool with 13,500 up top and paying 12 places. I ended up making the final table and busting in 10th. Was a good little run but really just grinding my small stack as I could never really chip up. Was fun though and glad I got a cash.

How do you feel about your short stack game? Considering that you mention that you usually stick to cash. Roughly how many BB were you fluctuating between?

I'm glad you went for it! Congrats on the FT and the cash!
