Hey all, I'm a little unclear on the "100 buy ins" wisdom. Say I currently play in $1 6 max hyper turbos. I want to play in $5 6 max hyper turbos.

Do I get my roll up to $505 before taking a single shot at the $5 game? Or do I start taking shots at the $5 game at $105+, and if my roll goes below $100 then switch back to the $1 game.

This is of course assuming I am beating the $1 game.

Any guidance is appreciated!!!

If you're able to step down at $100 then $105+ is the way to go.

A lot of the BR stuff is written for people who can't step down so need really high numbers of buy-ins for the game they are actually playing.

You can do your own simulations with SwongSim, explanations how it works are somewhere in this board, it's simple, free and a great software. It's way better to understand why you want a Bankroll of whatever size than just blindly following some "u need at least x BI".
FWIW 1$ games should be so soft that if u have a basic grasp of poker, 100 BI is a way too conversative approach and losing value thru not moving up early enough

Thanks! Yeah, I've been crushing the 1$ games pretty good, think I'll take a shot soon.
