Should we be checking to induce here against soft players or leading for value?

May seem quite nitty but I would fold pre. Early in a SNG you don't want to play hands that are easily dominated especially from EP.

On the flop I don't know why you would want to induce here? Are you willing to GII on the flop? Yes you have a combo draw but even against a K you are only a slight favourite.

You c bet and took the pot down with Q high. Success in my book.

Still trying to figure why are u raising EP Q9 , everything else I agree with CC96
Also keep in mind that this was def a -EV Open , and in the beggining you should be letting the Villains kill each other with their trashy hands, and you should be playing quite tight and aggro, cause in this example you say you want to induce , ok, so you check VIllain bets you 3Bet? Point is if ur combo draw misses, you are out or very weakened, but if you win and double up, remember ur chip value did not.

You leading here would not be for value... You would be leading as a semi-bluff.

Checking here would not be to induce. You would be checking to call, possibly for pot control, or to take a free card.

Also opening Q9d is not the worst, but I would just be cognizant that it is on the looser side, which isn't career ending if you know how to navigate your game post flop.

I know people will be probably say opening Q9d is a bad open in a vacuum, but again if someone has some good logic behind it and can navigate flops properly, opening Q9d on occasion is fine.

However my advice for you would be just to cut hands like this out of you ep opening range until your game improves and you can quantify why you are opening hands like this and how you're going to follow through on certain flop textures against certain villains, this is exploitative and can be done profitably, despite the naysayers.

I'm not sure overall how your game is, I am making some assumptions given how many posts you have and the simple fact that you think leading on a board like this would be for value, so I think it may be safe to say that maybe you're fairly inexperienced. Which is ok.

Please don't be discouraged either. Kinda have to develop some thick skin on this forum, can be quite the pissing contest as people get burned for making seemingly simple mistakes. Keep grinding and playing hands like this can lose you some money initially but if your willing to keep learning, you can learn some trusty nuggets on how to play hands more profitably, as well as learning other dynamics that go into a poker hand.

Good luck!!! Keep asking questions!!!

I think you played it fine.

Pre is pretty loose, but I guess one can make it work.

Wp. The narrow range you repping can semi this second nfd imo. Might fold out better hands aswell, also the line overall good for your range.

It's not a "lead" a "rep" or a "semi hard on", it's a plain and simple continuation bet

Pretty lose pree , but as you open from UTG flop is in your range so you did good with c-bet, but i would just muck it pre from that position..
