Hi

I have been a winning player for a number of years, but have recently come back to the game after a long break.

Looking at building a roll on 888 micros SNG, at 0.85 / 0.15 will the rake make this to difficult and what sort of daily volume would be needed. Would I be better subsidising my bankroll and going straight into the $3 or $5. If you could look at my numbers and advise this would be appreciated. Players now seem a little more clued up even at the micros to 5 - 10 years ago.

Cheers

I have built up my roll twice with 100/50 buyins by playing $1 and $2 turbo SNGs (0.86/0.14 and 1.72/0.28). The rake is high but there are no regs worth mentioning. I also have a rakeback deal (no idea what I'm getting honestly, all I know is it works).

Anyway, depends on the playerpool (more regs?), the size of your roll and rakeback. But it is definitely doable.

Both options are ok, it really depends on what you're most comfortable with - it's still a bit demoralizing to lose 20 buyins at the highest stakes you are playing ($100 at the fives), so that's something to consider. However, if you have the funds and believe in your skills, the higher buyins (less rake?) make sense, no?

Think I’ll maybe grind it out for another couple of weeks, would 20bbs still be sufficient today?

You mean buyins? 20 is definitely too low for hypers and even turbos (~10-20 buyin downswings are nothing unusual even at the turbos). It should be ok with regulars, but, being the nit that I am, I'm not comfortable with anything below 50.

20 buyins is definetly not enough, i recommend at least 50 and even that is pretty low in my opinion

If you can add a few bucks to your bankroll from your day job then I would say skip the $1 and $3. If you had $300 you could easily play the $5.
