I've had a standing desk since 2013 and it certainly has helped me a lot, especially during the COOPs where I grind many days in a row for the longest hours I play of the year.

Unfortunately it doesn't exactly solve the lack of movement problem and with the way I grind, I couldn't put a treadmill under it or anything like that. When I stand I do some stretches and get a bit of movement in for sure, but hard to do much of anything while mass tabling shorthanded SNGs with tons of HU play involved and whatnot. I could start taking more of the MTT sync breaks so I could actually go walk the stairs or something quick, but then that cuts into my hourly which I don't like either

If I had a real solution I'd offer it. I gained during and lost after 40 pounds. Obviously I didn't have an effective working plan

Standing desk + handstands every hour, plus yoga every 2-3 days, plus good diet/restricted time-eating.

I'm going to 12 hour shifts, 4 days on 3 off, 3 on 4 off. I'm anticipating a large quality of life improvement

7*12/2 = 42, but I hope it works out well.

I'm averaging 50/week now, and probably still will. The savings will come from having to get ready for and drive too a job 3 less days each 2 weeks, having 75% more days off. I've worked 12s before. It feels like being off half the time. I've always felt the hardest part was waking up, getting ready, driving to, planning my day around work. After all that working 8 or 12 hours isn't much different. Having 3 or 4 days off is HUGE.

As written the schedule has one 8 hour day each 2 weeks for 40/week, but we all pretty much assume we will be working 12 that day, and maybe a 16 occasionally. It's a prison during low unemployment, we are chronically under staffed.

I definitely will, but it feels kinda like keeping a bar open every day because a few times a month a friend drops by. Course it would help if I found more interesting things to talk about when they do. I likely need to work on my game.

I've been thinking lately about that first sttf huc. I need to try and recreate players and bracket. I will never win against a more impressive field again, but the only person I remember beating is Dave in the final.

Year endish global update, after 7 months of sporadic playing (including not at all for 3 months or so) I am about $600 higher than I was last update. Combination of losing interest/motivation for a while and playing Omaha while not probably being very good at it (based on short term results anyway). Still solid in sngs but get bored with them pretty quick. Been trying to look at it as job ish, see if I can make myself play more. Iracing is more fun though (another thing I'm not very good at).
