Good luck with the chemo. That is hard enough without having to worry about being infected everytime you go in for an infusion. I'm very glad you dont have to add financial stress on top of it all.

My particular autoimmune problem is several mil to one odds of getting, so you definitely get a bit of a picked on feeling. But the problem is demylonated nerves so it is something that can completely heal as the nerves remylonate. Its frustratingly slow, but there are far, far worse things out there than something that is just super inconvenient for part of a year but goes away.

I didn't expect to read this much about how Conora-Virus impacts our lives on 2+2.
But this probably explains why here is considered the biggest/best poker form.

I just got a phone call from HR 6 hours ago that today is my last paid day......
Good thing is I have enough saving to handle this, one more evidence proves the importance of bankroll mangagement.

And I just walk out the down-swing, up some nice number into my account.
So, lay-off actually means more poker to me. LOL

Run good and cheer up, pals~~~

Yeah, were good. Fortunately it was centered in the middle of nowhere. 40 miles to the nearest town. It was probably about 4.0 here, so interesting but not very dangerous. As long as Yellowstone stays intact we're good.

No HUD seems to be a thing a lot of online sites are striving for these days?

As someone who barely used my HUD, I support it.

I definitely used huds well, but as long as everyone plays by the rules I'm fine either way.

Playing a Sunday of tourneys for the first time in forever and I have immediately spotted a Lacky in the wild! Hello friend! Plenty of $540 wins for the both of us in this satellite

Haha, I won 2 out of 3 on those satellites and that was pretty much it all day. I'm finally going back to work tomorrow for the first time this year and I just can't get excited about it.

Hey all, very long time no speak. Just dropped in for the first time in about 5 years. Not played poker since 2015, thought it would be really hard quitting but it was actually really easy and looking back the best thing I did. Still miss my old poker buddies though. Hope all is well with the old STTF crew!

I quit too for about 4 years, then started playing hobby then part time. Unlikely I'll ever quit the full time job just for poker. As much as anyone can really do a 5 year plan with all the uncertainty mine is selling the house, quitting and going sailing. Houses will have to be worth a fair amount to makes that happen though, so we'll see what a few years from now looks like.

Just cause you quit poker you are still welcome here. I think most of us have quit or scaled back a great deal. It's mostly an old friend thread now.

Good to hear from you! Hope all is well in non-pokerville. Things are quiet here nowadays. Come on by and spam us sometime to keep it alive with your OT banter.

Anyone up for a volume-based wager for August? I play 6-max STT and need to get into grinding harder. I will be on vacation for a week, so I'm looking to do 1.8k to 2k STTs.

Basically, bet is null if we both hit our volume.

You might want to make a thread on it. I'm not sure any of us still play stt's, in volume anyway.

The champ continues to crush it. Just took down 2nd place in the VENOM (WPNs beastly $2,650 7mm! grtd) for almost 1.3 million cold hard American dollars. 'grats Mr. M!

Its kinda ironic (to me) that LipoFund is the one who keeps crushing.
He once said something like he never understood the grinders these days (that was 10 years ago) grinding each day for x$/hour and that if he hadnt binked a tourney early on he wouldve long quitted poker.

But then again thats probably why he kept his spirit for the game up for so long. Congratz to him!

Are there SNG winners? Or is it only worth it for mass table RB grind?

Sure there are lot of players who make good money from table profit (+RB) you can see it on SharkScope

At the micros to mid-stakes, definitely. Like any other format though, as you move up it quickly devolves to regs trying to exploit small edges against mostly other regs to win a small bit with rakeback on top.

Like Hot*ShoT implied though, that can be worth your time.

I worked it backwards : If you 8-tabled for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, for 50 weeks a year, at the $50+$5's, and you could maintain a 3-4% ROI with rakeback, you could hit somewhere around $50K a year.

Tournaments : 50 weeks x 5 days x 64 tourneys = 16,000 total tourneys

3.62% ROI x $55 x 16K tourneys = $31,856

20.25%RB on ACR (you get 27% applied to 75% of the rake) for 16K tournaments = $16,200

You'd end up with $48,056. It would be difficult, but it's not insane. You wouldn't be rich, but plenty of people would be perfectly happy on $4K a month.

So, no posts in the entire month of October, most of September, and now nearly the end of November.

<bump>

Wishing all of you STTF regs, old-timers, and jerky boys a happy holiday season. Whether or not you can spend it with loved ones.

P.S. I checked. The last time a full calendar month went by without a post was last September. I don't know why this fascinates me... I guess I'm just a sucker for the nostalgia of the good-ol-days.

Nothing of interest happened in October. Especially for the American’s in the group.
