I played a few thousand SnGs at PS last year and ran crudely around exactly the same as PT4 showed my all in EV to be, just a touch below but my sample size is small enough for that to be variance.

Switched to PP a few months ago and almost immediately I was running a long way ABOVE all-in EV. Through about 5k SnGs at PP, I'm running at about 6% ROI, which is pretty much as expected, but my all-in EV suggests I'm actually a losing player! I don't think I'm running amazingly well, it's all pretty much par for the course.

Again, not great sample sizes, but there is surely something weird going on there. Since switching sites my all in EV graph has nosedived, without me really playing any differently. In individual SnGs I'm seeing AIEV at negative more than the buyin itself, even where I went out on the bubble to a bad beat. It's weird and a little frustrating as I really don't have a quantitative indication as to how variance is affecting my results any more.

Wondering if there are any insights about how it is calculated and its relevance to SnGs?
I'd check their posting rules as I'm not sure what they are, but you may want to ask in the software forum.

https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/45/software/

There is a PT4 support thread thread in the commercial forum. They may be able to inform you about how it is calculated.

One quick note on your post - it shouldn't surprise you that you can lose more all-in $EV than the buy-in. Say it's the bubble and you call off your big stack against the chip leader when two micro stacks already folded - you stand to lose more $EV than your buy-in, even as a favorite.

I've got no trip reports.

Don't do the drive thru at In N' Out. Much much faster to just park and go inside.

Pudge is 4th in chips at the dinner break in the ME - ~200 left.

He and Inya got a ton of shoutouts from the broadcast booth yesterday.

Edit: nevermind - that wasn't all the players. But he has a healthy stack at 4.2M.

Sam Greenwood Eliminated in 45th Place ($211,945)

Posted 31 minutes ago ajlamers • Level 31: 125,000-250,000, 250,000 ante SHARE
Timothy Su opened to 500,000 in the cutoff and Sam Greenwood made a large three-bet to 2,500,000 from the big blind. Su called and the two players saw a flop of {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}.

Greenwood led out for 1,800,000 and Su stuck around for the {j-Spades} on the turn. Greenwood slid out another bet of 3,500,000 only to have Su shove all in. Greenwood put his hands on his head and stood up from his seat as he called all in for roughy 11,500,000.

Sam Greenwood: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}
Timothy Su: {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

Greenwood held the best hand but Su had an open-ended straight draw for the largest pot in the tournament by far. The dealer burned and turned the {k-Clubs} on the river and Su nailed his straight. Greenwood, one of the big stacks in the tournament was just eliminated.

Curtains was on The Grid podcast a while ago, talking about the heyday of this subforum and a hand that was posted here. Very interesting, even for those who were not around at that time.

Lol Daliman says obvious fold with A9s in BB vs. 6BB button shove, 3-handed, late in a 9-man SNG. Already in the money.

And now gigabet thinks it's a fold. Love the gigabet bashing. That guy was so FOS. Irie called him out.

I'm googling but can't find the thread. Jennifer talks about seeing it though - so it must still be out there - in the archives.

curtains sent me his "tables" at one point because he said I seemed like a nice guy and he liked my posting. But by that point SNGWiz was all I needed imo. Or not - maybe I left a ton of equity on the table.
