I was a teacher, but it was a LONG time ago, first 2 years after college. After poker i got a job as a correctional officer (great benefits for the family) and have been at it 6 years now. About 4 years ago I did a $2 challenge on global poker (well documented in the thread) to see how much I could grow the free $2 they give you for signing up. Considered it won when I hit $3000 I think. Been playing mtts there since. It's basically a 20ishk per year part time job without ever depositing. I actually needed that $2 challenge because I didn't have any confidence i could still win at poker after being away so long. Why? I donno, the mind and confidence play funny tricks. But it was a low stress way of getting back in the game, just like growing it all from a $50 deposit on party poker was the first time. Poker is still...well if not fun still a compulsion, at least mtts. I still get a rush from winning one. And downturns hurt lots less when I'm not relying on it to pay the bills.

Btw, my daughter that posted here some as "lacky`s daughter" is about 7 months pregnant with her first. Fun times.

Yeah, I'd say that's a win! It wasn't super tedious starting with $2? JFC I'd gouge my eyes out after a few dozen hours at micro stakes I think.

20k/year is prettay prettay good off a $2 deposit and given that being a winning poker player is supposed to require actual skill now.

I have an almost 5 year old and a 1.5 year old. That is pretty much what I'm up to, lol.

I also got back into chess in ~2015 or so. That would be my main/only hobby, really. Not a whiff of poker since Black Friday .

I stopped playing poker for a living about ten years ago. Starting working back towards using my engineering degree. I’m now managing a building services department for a consulting engineering firm doing mechanical systems design for buildings.

Eastbay is who i think of when it comes to the initial ICM calculations for Sngs.
and of course i remember Yugo and Lacky from back in the day.
oh to relive those times when SnGs were printing money.

Time flies. It was only about 7 years ago that I was trying to help Scotty_12 get paid a chunk of money that Nate Sumrall (futuredoc on 2p2) stole from him. Somehow both me and Scott let this slip until recently but seems like a good time to let the world know that Nate sucks and has refused to show any remorse or attempt to pay back Scott for over 7 years.

Mix of live, a little SNG grinding US-facing sites, and growing food. Some old men still enjoy just playing poker, whatever the setup.

I’m looking forward to Cali (hopefully) legalizing both sports betting & iPoker. Someday. The big Tribes definitely want sports (hopefully the rake doesn’t suck).
