It's 2018. We're growing up. We're going on big trips. We've having babies. We're also still degenerates, let's be honest.

$206 for me but I've barely played recently. I'm bored with microstakes but don't want to punt it so don't bother playing.

I'm at $40, largely because I refused to move back down till I got there. It's hard to get motivated again

Thanks!
I'm about to be 32, don't want to hit 40 and weak/out of shape. I also follow two doctors (Jordan Feigenbaum, Austin Baraki. East to find their YT/IG's) who have opened my eyes to all of the health benefits of barbell training / being strong WRT a lot of the things I don't want to have happen to me later in life.
I also just want to look sexy.

SiQ,

I'm 50 and have the strength of 10 men.

Movieman,

Speaking of movies: Logan's Run!

semi related, and not just for SIQ, but what have you adjusted in your eating/cooking habits? thats one area ive definitely improved on the last few years but also know i can and should do much better. i cook a lot of soups for myself and am trying to just be better about not eating pasta and sauce everynight, which is just so easy and cheap.

Ah, the dawn of a New Year! So happy to see that all y'all oldsters are still agile enough to work a keyboard.

Good to see that Movieman finally came out of the closet and posted pics of his fantasy women. Odd, but oddly true to form...

My relationship with gravity has become stronger this year. I've ballooned to a whopping 182 American pounds. Working hard to accelerate my protein and carb intake. Hoping that 2019 will get me to the 185 lb. mark.

I really missed doing a "Twas the night before" poem this year, but did put some thought into writing one for old time's sake.

Things are great in SlackerLand. Terrific job, no major health issues for me or wifey, kid and his wife doing awesome things... Happy times.

Seriously. Miss you guys and wish the best for you and all of those you love.

Movieman,
I suck at food. I don't really make anything. Grill chicken breast or steaks and boil pasta every now and then.
I have been tracking every meal possible on MyFitnessPal. I learned about macros, and some idea of what I want to hit for certain goals.

I generally eat like egg whites / a ****load of oats and some sort of bacon for breakfast and the next 3 meals is usually like microwave veggies and some canned or pre-made food or sometimes the stuff I grill myself. Unless I eat out.
I don't enjoy cooking, and I already feel like I have no time in the day.

It's been a while, so nice to see some old names here.

I thought about this yesterday and really have some huge laughs. Take care everyone.

Been playing around with intermittent fasting & basic gut health stuff the past 18 months. Pretty interesting to vibe off of all of that. Done some 36-48 hour fasts with sense-popping results (am a wuss now doing 2-3 ~18 hour/week). Some interesting research/postulating in those areas going on. (insulin, serotonin levels, cancer cells, etc.)

Apparently if you're an old man ***** with a gluten sensitivity & you stop drinking beer/eating gluten, you can breath through your nose and feel a lot better. But who wants to do that with any regularity.

Yeah gramps, I read up on the modified fasting (restricted calorie) stuff too. Haven't gotten around to doing one yet though.

I had to stop drinking coffee. I'm the lucky 10% that coffee causes joint pain in, instead of everyone else it reduces it. Makes my finger joints swell. I'm sure trashing them with a decade of poker doesn't help.

The doctors I listen to (Feigenbaum / Baraki) repeatedly say that all of the medical literature points to intermittent fasting not having any benefits outside of some people having increased compliance sticking to a diet.

I am not a doctor so I have no valid opinion, but it definitely gets enough hype from the obvious bull**** health gurus that it smells bad to me.

That suuuucks. Is it the caffeine or something else in the coffee? Life without caffeine sounds like hell. Guess there's always meth.

When my kids were little we used to go to this family camp where you'd end up sleeping a lot, a full night plus a siesta. After one day there, I'd have no desire for caffeine.

It's something in the coffee, soda and tea are fine.

On the fasting these are a couple articles I've read.
