FWIW Ivey's room was empty all night. I busted fairly early in the tourney, then played 5/10 with a bunch of boring wannabe pros.

Two were covering their necks the whole time. Half were playing other video games on their phone the whole time - yeah that will really entice the fish to want to play! The other half never said a word and it was clear two pairs of dudes were buddies and acting as a team basically.

I think I was the only person in the entire Aria poker room drinking alcohol.

I was up about $1500 at one point, then lost a few hands. Then shoved an open-ender + backdoor FD into $600 pot or so and lost vs. a set running it twice. I was probably the second biggest fish at the table in my inebriated state. Glad to contribute to the poker economy!

See that's the problem suzz, you were thinking of poker as fun. After roughly 17 mil hands I don't think it's possible for me to ever fall into that trap again. Poker is to make money at this point. If I wanna have fun ill do virtually anything else.

It has to be fun for someone or you're never going to make money at it - that's my point.

True, although one reason I couldn't play live full time is I really don't like hanging out with strangers much.

I enjoyed playing live after I stopped playing online. But, I played at a small casino that had many regulars (good and bad), so it had a social component to it that I did enjoy. Also, the money was just bonus, so there was no pressure.

I haven't played in over 2 years now, probably closer to 3. Every once and a while I get the urge. But it's tough now that I'm married, have a baby, play hockey a couple times a week, and teach a course at a local college once a week. My wife wouldn't appreciate me saying I'm going to go spend a bunch of hours on a Saturday night playing poker.

My wife didn't appreciate me playing from home tonight...until I won the $5 rebuy with 693 players, then she was ok with it. Good timing!

Sweet! I've been dropping the ball lately with keeping the bar open. I have won a couple more Matt's, well more than that if we count under $1000 wins too, meaning I've been playing them lots more, meaning I've let myself be frustrated more. Playing mtt's is a bipolar existence.

What do you do with these Matt's you've won?

Let's have an old school STTF reunion in Vegas for the WSOP. Preferably on some weekend where there's a reasonably-priced WSOP NLHE tourney.

Unfortunately in my job we bid for this year's vacations at the end of last year. Not the most flexible of jobs. That's one thing I definitely miss from poker

Global update since its been a while. Got my free $2 up over $15k last night after getting 6th in the main event.
