Single Table 6 player live tourney.

Level 4, blinds 100 / 200, 25 ante.. Everyone still has about 10k in chips.. (starting stack)..

Im BB with AJo
CO raises to 500
I raise to 1200
CO calls, heads up

Flop comes A K Q rainbow.

I bet 800
CO Raises to 1700
I go all in
CO calls

CO shows JTo, a made straight. Turn and River are blanks and I go home.

What were my mistakes here? Should have bet more preflop, and should have bet more on the flop I guess?

I would just flat this pre. Sure you are ahead of his opening range (unless he is ridiculously tight), but you prevent from having tough spots if you miss the flop, plus your hand is kinda disguised that way. AJ also is a little too strong in my opinion to get 4bet and having to fold. Hands like A9o I would be more likely to 3bet pre here.

On the flop, your sizing makes sense, however after he raises there is pretty much nothing you have beat anymore that he would call your shove with, unless he is really really aggro or really bad.
I myself would probably check flop and play is passively. Don't forget you are also OOP on turn and river. By checking you might create bluffs by weaker hands, especially on this board.
As played I would probably bet\call flop but if he fires again on the turn I probably find a fold. I think shoving is by far the worst option to his flop raise.

I like your 3bet pre but I would make it bigger, like 1.8k. I think that many times oppo can fold preflop.

On the flop I play it passively.

As played I fold flop on his raise 'cause you don't beat nothing.

Whether calling or raising pre is better depends on his ranges and so does flop play. fwiw readless i call pre and check that flop cause our hands does well against rnds opening range and he will very likely bet this board.

3b bigger pre, flop bet is small, call or fold flop, jam is way too aggressive here. AK, AQ, KQ, AA, KK, QQ, JT are all well within villain's range. We're not getting calls from much Ax or any Kx and there are no draws to deny/charge for equity. We're only getting called by made hands here. Best case scenario we are drawing to 7 outs, we're usually in even worse shape than that.

I can see it being hard to find a fold here, but call and evaluate on the turn.
