6M Hypers vs. 6M SKO Hypers: Higher ROI%? 6M Hypers vs. 6M SKO Hypers: Higher ROI%?

Hey guys,

I was just wondering which of these SNGs format has a chance at a higher ROI.

6Max Hypers have 2 minute blind levels, 500 starting chips, 65% for 1st and 35% 2nd.
6Max SKO Hypers have 3 minute blinds levels, 500 starting chips, just about 0.48 buy-ins for every KO, and out of the 50% prize pool reserved for 1st and 2nd, it is also split 65%/35%.

At a first glance I'd say longer blind levels allow for some more poker, specially in the heads up and bubble after the first KO's are rather quickly taken. But, in the other hand, the fact of having KO's in play has us calling some pretty wide and high variance spots.

Also 6max hypers seem to be dying games, while KOs still run pretty fine.

What are your thoughts?

SKOs have some pretty wild ICM so I'd imagine there's more room for edge there. But as always the defining factor is where the most fun players are.

Like at any relatively unsolved game, the chance of becoming a crusher is bigger at SKOs if you study efficiently, but so is the chance of being a regfish without realising it. Perhaps no one knows well yet how to play postflop in SKOs, considering that expert play likely involves limping ranges at the early blind levels.

Hi coon74. Do you play SKOs?

I've started my journey on them shortly after posting this thread, after my first 500 in the 4's-15's I sit at 15.6% evROI (running hot at 25.5% right now) ,and one thing I started doing a lot that I didn't at regular Hypers was exactly limping at early blinds levels.

I've read close to nothing on specific bounty material, but I'm sure someone as come upon some sort of concept that I like to call it myself as KO Ability. Feels like anytime you put chips on a high variance spot, or a tiny +EV spot, you're actually losing a lot of future game $EV that is affected by this KO Ability you're losing vs. other opponents each time you risk chips. In MTTs this does not weigh as much as players usually have bigger gaps between their chipstacks allowing for more room in regards to KOa, but in a 6 players game, specially in the first two levels you're gonna have a lot players with the same chips or 20 chips up 20 chips down, and raising your bottom range to 2bb could cost you a full table of KO Ability lost in the following hand, which will make each next move of yours lose EV.

If anyone's studying these tiny game, hit me up as I'm looking forward to that.
