$60 reg speed 4 bet shove spot

Villain in this hand is an absolute crusher, much better than me.
I have about 7k hands on him, mostly from playing at the 30 reg speeds.
In this spot, I thought he'd be 3 betting aggressively, utilising his position and really inflicting the pain on me.
I think KQ is the best non Axs hand to 4 bet ship here to make sure he can't run me over in this spot.
I'm looking for thoughts on what a 4 betting range should be in this spot.

Re: $60 reg speed 4 bet shove spot

I'll break the hand down for you tomorrow. I'll type up a response to this hand sometime in the evening. However, when I started typing out my response to this hand, the post ended up being like 4 pages long. It turned into an overall strategy post and how to make ranges and the theory behind it. It was also super long because I gave my logic and reasoning on why you would do "A" here as opposed to "B" or "C..." But I gave the theorem behind A,B,C and yada, yada, yada...

When I try and give advise on a hand I try to shy away from "you did this right" or "do this instead" or "i would have done this" and leave it at that.

I'm more concerned with the posters overall strat and thought process and their understanding of the spots they are in. So when I initially read this I wanted to find a way to teach the poster how to create ranges for different spots so they can do it themselves and not simply give him/her a range ya know?

It's more important that OP knows how to create these ranges himself/herself so they can do it in the future but also so they can practice and get familiar with them so they become second nature.

If I were to post my initial response, I would would just do it in a different post and refer you too it. Nah mean?

Like I said, I'll type up a response hopefully tomorrow and it'll be more geared towards this hand in particular and less about overall strat and and the supporting theorem and math. I don't want this hand to get lost in translation, so I'll give a more watered down synopsis.

I don't claim to be an expert on these type of spots, but I think if u think he's wide pre u can call his 3bet....against typical 3bet ranges that we see in practice this hand would be too weak to call but if you think he's wide you actually dominate a fair amount of combos. I'd rather 4b jam something like K10s so u can fold out KJ/KQ/A10 and have similar equity that KQo has vs his 4b call range.

When in doubt, I like to rip that badboy in the middle, and really put the fear of God into my opponent.

I also pretty much need to hit top pair or a good draw to proceed against a cbet, resulting in me being blown off my equity and getting pushed around.

Re: $60 reg speed 4 bet shove spot

He shouldnt be too wide considering he has a 16bb stack in BB.
But definately one of the better hands to 4b jam on him if hes BTN 3b stat is greater than 8-9.
U shouldnt have a non all in 4b range in this spot (unless u have some weird sht dynamic with a reg that likes to ''go fancy alot''). Creating a 4b shoving range really depends on how u create your flatting range here. I think going with 88+ AJo+ AQs+ is never a mistake. Widen it for some more hard blocking bluffs like KQo etc. If hes not going all bananas alot here im keeping ATs AJs KQs KJs in my flatting range, if hes 3beting alot im just jaming those also in his face.
