€3 deepstack tourney, 6-max

313 total entrants and 59 get paid. There were about 80 left when this hand took place , so about 20 more eliminations away from the money.

Villain was a bad aggro (46/32) - Trying to boss the table. opening lots of pots and literally c-betting 100% of flops. You get the picture.

I have a slightly below average stack. I'm in about 55th position IIRC. I'm not in bad shape but I can't just fold my way into the money.

So yeah, I get dealt AQo in the blinds facing a 3bb open from villain and I have a 29bb stack. My thought process was - A normal 3-bet size OOP versus a 3x open would be a 10-12bb 3-bet. Since that represents a third of my stack, I don't want to find myself in a pot versus a fish OOP with a low SPR if I miss the flop. So I figured, I should shove if I'm 3-betting.

Is flatting even an option here? Flatting feels too weak and 3-betting all-in feels like I'm overplaying it.

Here is the HH up to my action:

PokerStars - 2500/5000 Ante 625 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

CO: 14.83 BB
BTN: 26.61 BB
Hero (SB): 29.48 BB
BB: 24.17 BB
UTG: 1.41 BB
MP: 72.94 BB

6 players post ante of 0.13 BB, Hero posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 2.25 BB) Hero has Q A

fold, MP raises to 3 BB, fold, fold, Hero ?,

Hey, thanks for your help.

Yeah I ended up shoving and he tanked and tanked and tanked and then flipped over AA for a slowroll.

Oh well, I'm happy with how I played it.
