Guys, I really need your help. What can you tell me? How can I improve?

This is the first time I've ever taken stats on tournaments with an HUD, because I'm desperate to find out what's wrong. Nothing is sticking out to me too much, but maybe I don't understand the stats as good as you guys.

I'm getting pretty desperate here. I love the game of poker but it does not love me back, not one bit. I've been playing for about 15 years. But, I took a hiatus for a couple years and now over the past 6 months, I feel like I'd have a better chance at the slot machine.

I've always done extremely well with live poker but I don't have anywhere near my house to play. I have always done terribly online. I never seem to win flips when they matter and my big hands never seem to hold up when I need them to...

What can I do to improve? Please don't tell me to play 100,000 hands and come back. I don't have that kind of $ to lose at a -34% ROI.

This is 9handed right?

U're bleeding chips with medium hands like T9 87 etc. (all low/med connectorts), would check your postflops in the ones were u lost a lot of chips, maybe you are too aggro or not aggro enough once u put in lots of chips. Maybe u miss river bets with your busted draws or call too big bets with draws.

Also steal way more blinds, 36% is too low (and a "leak detector" that says it's fine sucks ).

Don't openfold any smallblind (limp the worst, raise the best) and openraise (2.x bb) a lot of btn and co (maybe like 50% btn 40% co), that's a good standard to go from.

Also either raise or fold hands like KQ and QJ. Can limp the suited versions behind vs openlimper(s) but iso (or fold in EP) the offsuit ones.

Cbet 51% is on the low side but depending on strat can be fine.

As you seem to win quite some chips but lose $, you should definetely work on your ICM. Programs like Holdem Resources Calculator or ICMizer are essential for this, worth their price multiple times.

GL

Adding to this that probably every crusher ran worse over your sample size, so it might just well be variance and u actually are a winner right now

If this is 9man SNG, are you sure you understand what ICM is? Because the pattern seems to be many 4th place finishes from this small sample.

Happy to chime in and tell you to play 100,000 more hands. 127 games is a sample a lot of guys achieve in 1 day, and anything can happen ROI wise in a single day. You've been on 2p2 for almost 10 years so I'd say the odds of your real winrate being worse than 0 are quite low.

Do you use an ICM program? Do you use any postflop equity programs like equilab or flopzilla? That's always a great place to start. Post some hands you're struggling with as well (NOT BAD BEAT POSTS!!). GL man!

Hi guys, I just now had time to get back to the post. Thanks for all of the comments.

I think you guys are absolutely correct. I need to work on ICM.
I have to admit, since I took a couple years vacation from poker and this is as serious as I've been for a while...I had never heard of ICM until just before I started this 10,000 hand sample. I actually had dismissed it as BS, because I used to always hold the belief that the best thing to do was take advantage of everyone else tightening up on the bubble and continue to play fast, building my stack and improving my odds to win 1st place. Fast play on the bubble had worked very well previously for me (years ago), but clearly the online game has changed and people are much better! So yeah, I am working on hard on my ICM skills and I think it has already helped a lot. I'm not using any programs yet but I understand the general concept and have spent a few hours reviewing people's youtube videos on the concept.

You guys are also correct that I need to work on volume
I've decided that I'm going to reduce my risk by moving over to Ignition Casino from ACR (less regs, I think?). I have only been playing 6 man double or nothings and I will play 20+ in a day. I've probably logged about 200 double or nothings and I am up about 5 buy ins despite what seems like losing to a high number of horrendous suck outs.

So anyhow, I think I am on the right track. I just have to keep moving forward and continuing to improve!

Thanks guys for all your input!

This is the "play tight when others are loose and play loose when others are tight" thing.

This it's fine if we are talking about raising/opening in the knowledge that others are likely to fold. It goes wrong if we call their tight opens with trash. Sklansky extends it to....

raise wider against tight callers
raise tight against wide callers
call wider against wide raisers
call tighter againts tight raisers
