How is it even possible to check-raise preflop?
06-27-2017 , 10:53 AM
Lol, I noticed that too, let it slide. Limp raise I'm guessing. In my (shortstacking) experience it's not terribly popular online either.
06-27-2017 , 10:55 AM
We broke 100 posts! Thread is on fire this year!
06-27-2017 , 11:11 AM
Yes limp-raise obviously.
06-27-2017 , 06:07 PM
Serves you right for limping pre-flop in the first place. What is this, 1996?

On an entirely separate note, I'm starting to do some freelance writing on online gaming - some combination of news and opinion/analysis. If any of y'all see a story that you think might be interesting, drop me an email or something.

Just woke up after spending all night in the ER with my ex - 5.5 hours just to get admitted. And she has good health insurance. Great healthcare system we have here. Basically every junkie and indigent person uses the ER for basic healthcare - because it's the only place that won't turn them away for lack of funds. Trump definitely nailed it when he said Aussie was way ahead of us.

Makes me laugh when Brits moan about waiting 2-3 hours to be seen in accident and emergency, when they could be paying out their pocket for a worse service elsewhere.

Hope she is all good.

Just ask complaining Brits if they'd rather have our system.

I wonder what rich people do though? They must have a secret emergency room somewhere.
06-30-2017 , 12:02 PM
They live in areas where people don't use the ER as their primary care provider
06-30-2017 , 03:32 PM
There's a ****-ton of rich people in Hollywood.

Last time I was in ER, a guy was yelling (angrily) at one of the nursing assistants because he didn't like his meal and it was too cold. While helping to talk her frustration down, she revealed that the patient in question is a frequent visitor and this wasn't abnormal behavior from him, lol. Can I get some service over here?!

In California there's a lot of cities/counties already up sh-t creek with their retirees health care costs (and the legally-required added contributions to make up any shortfall - that's $$ that comes out of their general budget). Wait til the next crisis/semi-crisis hits right as tax revenues dry up & CALPERS' portfolio drops in value.

Speaking of rich people and hospitals, some rich people in PV just gave Torrance Memorial $50M. Now they'll have a decent hospital to go to. They've given it $100M over the years.

Why on earth has two plus two died a death lol, stopped playing poker in 2014 and this site was very much alive but now seems like noone is on here.

Also what happened to all the coaching listings? back then there were literally hundreds of threads for people offering all kinds of coaching. Could be doing with a 6 max hyper coach!

Anyway, i'm getting back to the $1.5 6 max hyper sit n go grind. In the past 4 weeks have played just over 2000 with a roughly 3% ROI so good to see i'm still profitable but going to start putting in the hours again in studying and get back up to speed!

well, with online poker not really being legal in most states, id imagine that had something to do with it

on a related note, i drunkely tried to reboot my carbon poker app a couple weeks ago and it didnt open

Hey madsci, long time no see. Hope you are doing well!

Thanks Lacky. I've been at a new workplace as a Data Scientist for 10 months now and I love it. I'm pretty happy now that I'm not playing as much poker. How are you?

Doing fine as a state corrections officer. I can't say it's my dream job, or one I even ever considered before I saw it and applied. The benefits are good though, the pay isn't bad, and it lots less stressful than poker was. I guess that says lots when working in a prison is less stress. Its hard getting used to a ridged schedule though. I definitely miss making my own hours and taking off whenever I wanted/needed. I also make lots less, but that was always going to be the case for me if I had to get a job.

All in all I can't complain. Everyone is reasonably healthy and happy and have what they need and some of what they want.

Here's a q... is being a CO more like Prison Break, or Orange is the New Black?

'Cause we were just talking about this, from the UK Telegraph:

The pressures left 11.3 per cent of patients unable to get an appointment at all - a 27 per cent rise since 2012. This amounts to around 47 million occasions on which patients attempted but failed to secure help from their GP, forcing them to give up, try again later or turn to Accident & Emergency departments.

Rising numbers of patients struggled to even get through on the phone, with 27.8 per cent of those polled citing difficulties, compared with 18.5 per cent in 2012.

I'm not saying there are no problems in the NHS, but lol sensationalism. "Try again later" is included in the fail conditions. Later on in the article "inconvenient time" was another... "One million patients a week cannot get appointments!" - so in a little over one year, the entire population of the country tried to get an appointment, and nobody was ever seen?

I'm the wrong person to ask as I have never seen prison break. Neither I would guess. Its most like a military base, except the fences keep the people in, not out. Less honorable inhabitants also. But chow hall, laundry, recreation center, baseball/basketball/soccer leagues, chapel, stuff like that, probable about the same amount of fights, people getting in trouble, and cussing.

I would hope they have better food and less problems with suicide at a military base but don't know.
