People who are saying it's staged: How does anyone benefit? Kanye West looks like a ****ing douchebag. That awful country singer doesn't get to thank anyone for what will hopefully be the biggest honor of her life. What would be the purpose of staging it - so people will talk about the VMAs? I can't imagine that either of these two would take the short end of the stick just to drum up some publicity for MTV.

it wasnt a classic move.

i just read that beyonce was briefed right before that she had to share her stage by MTV and her manager. otherwise people would think that she was agreeing with kanye.

so i dont think it was out of the goodness of her heart.
it was rather a damage control/good PR move.
