Yeah you’re probably correct.

Farley if he invested wisely (half his money in mutual funds and the other half taken over to his friend Asadullah who works in securities) would be a billionaire.

Has anyone sold their old phones? Is it easy? How would I do it? Is it worth it?
We just got new ones so we have 2 Samsung S9s laying around. I've wiped and reset them but now don't know what to do with them.

Yes, I could google it - and have - but there's lots of different advice and I'm looking for some first-hand experience from someone I trust (there's got to be at one of you guys that are trustworthy).

I just toss them in the box that’s full of spare cables.

AT&T always takes mine as a trade-in when I upgrade. Can't remember what amount they credit, but it's not nothing and I always feel like it's plenty, given how convenient it is. I wouldn't consider going to additional effort to try to squeeze out higher value in exchange for a greater hassle, given the relatively low cost of a phone.

Not sure who your carrier is and whether there's any sort of trade-in/buy-back going on there.
07-22-2022 , 12:34 PM
The buy-back required a new plan that cost more. It would have ended up costing a few dollars more/month including the cost of the new phones and the buy-back.

That's how they get ya. That's the rub.

The reverse write-off.

Do you even know what a reverse write-off is?

tie some fishing line to it and place the bait at the end of your yard closest to the sidewalk.

set up video from multiple angles, the goal is to rake millions from tictac

when an unexpecting pedestrian bends over to pick it up (btw unexpecting pedestrians are less likely to be found after roe v wade was overturned), tug the fishing line.
how you tug it depends

if they're old, just use little tugs to keep them interested. their age is prone to limited eyesight and you don't want to pull the phone out of their range of vision or else you've lost them

if they're young, wait until they touch it then yank the line hard. focus on their reaction from there and adjust your luring technique accordingly.

If it's too old they'll just laugh at you. The last time I got a new phone they were like, "Yeah, we can't possibly sell this to anybody, it's out-of-date for trade-in value."

I'm close to needing a new phone - mine has trouble charging, as much as I clean out the port - and it's a G7. So I'm not expecting much when I get a new one.

There's a lot of them on ebay for over $100, so you might be able to get $50 each?

Pro Tip: Unless it is your team in town, don't buy tickets to a game on Star Wars night that is also Kids Get In Free weekend. The stadium will be full of people that have no interest in watching a game.

On the plus side, both tonight and last night we sat across the aisle from Juan Soto's family. Tonight my wife talked to Mom Soto and Little Brother Soto. They were both very nice.

On the negative side, the Nats suck. I can't believe it was only three years ago they were World Series Champs.

Did they say where they wanted Juan traded to?

He'd look great in Pinstripes iyam.

thoughts on my situation?

Context, I have a few interviews for soccer head coach division II/III head coach opportunities, after graduating college I was an asst coach for soccer for about 6 years before I got out and got a diff job. I took the new job since I was frustrated with couldn't get a head gig and it was something new. when I was in H.S and college and during after post grad I always wanted to be a head coach.

my position now. even though its noting to do with soccer, I get paid to legit sometimes do 15 hrs a week (full salary and benefits) its admin stuff and some days I can work from home and its literally during the year its way way less work than soccer in terms of time commitment and everything. sure im not that passionate about it and its whatever but the fact that I make my hours, come in to office when I want and only for a few hours sometimes, its a dream gig in terms of workload and pay.

my family thinks its terrible that I am in this comfort and think they raised me better. my friends are split 50/50

50% say I need to take the gig because I always wanted to and why not, could always do something else if it doesn't work out

50% say its a dream office type gig I have now where you don't have to do half as much work and since im still doing a very good job i could always move into this new space and def catapult and more opportunities for advancement than the soccer gig ( even tho I don't care about advancement and making more money)

I like my gig now not because of really what i do (its okay) but im actually good at it (maybe better than the soccer ) but because i make hours I can game and do whatever for most of the year usually, it really is comfort.

im afraid of taking the soccer gig because im not as passionate as I was 2 years ago when I got out and a lot of work that I need to be invested in ( I think I could be) plus my cuirrent job I actually did had to work a lot my first year more than the average person in my position but now im reaping the benefits if that makes sesne as my boss said I would once I get everything "situational"

what do you guys as complete Randoms make of all this? my family is Kinda disappointed since they are hard workers and think im just takin the "easy" way at and that at the end of the day they want me to be happy and do what I want regardless. even tho I do feel ive been complacent myself

its a battle of doing what I might enjoy as opposed to being comfort/free time

thoughts?

edit potentially new gig would be 3-5k more

nah my fam still loves me and respects me imo lol but I think they know im being complacent and have gotten lazy the last 2 years, like I legit go to bed at 5 am 6 am wakeup at 2pm, go into office for 2 hours then just go home after, that's my day for like 40-50% of my worklife, its not something imn proud of but i have been complacent with the low workload for 75% of my time. like a new tv show comes out, play poker whenver i want, I can grind tf out of it more so than someone working 40 hr a week or someone in a position that i might want on non summer months lol

25% of my work is a lot of workload kinda but the other 75% is what I said above

I still thin im passionate about he sport but not as much, i feel comfort and not sure if this feels good that im not really being pushed but its because not my job its me, im too complacent and do the bare minimum right now
