OF COURSE it is reasonable to think that William and Mary isn't necessarily the name of a college. My first thought was something like "Although I wouldn't have needed to ask the same question, the girl in this story doesn't seem that dumb. Maybe William and Mary is some kind of slang instead of the name of an institution, which would perhaps reveal what makes the girl dumb enough to be mentioned itt". To call it unreasonable when you have been showed the reasoning, and other people have agreed that it was their reasoning too... I don't even know what it is... hard-headed and unimaginative? Those words don't quite seem strong enough.

Named after ******ed English King and Queen IMO. Second oldest school in the country. Damn those colonials picked a lot of stupid names based on stupid English names. Wonder why?

I don't care about Bullet and don't expect most people from Australia to know that college, but it's a really sad reflection on our education system when educated people from the US haven't heard of it.

I also wondered what William and Mary was for a split second then I figured it was a college/university so I googled it to find out for sure.

This thread should go in the OOT HOF. Just because it is the longest standing argument over nothing. If for no other reason that to give a heads up to noobs who the OOT trolls are. Because they came out in swarms for this one. And I'm not even talking about the high post count/known /established posters.
