I tell the waitress nicely that I ordered a side of ranch and honey mustard, she of course doesn't apologize, nor does our waitress. I do tell the waitress that ran the appetizer "thank you" even though I didn't get a sorry from her. Our entrées come out, my husband had ordered his burger on texas toast(it's actually an option on the menu) rather than a bun, our own waitress brings the burger on a bun. She forgets my ranch as well. My husband decides not to say anything about his wrong bread issue, but I tell her about my ranch nicely. She doesn't apologize, but of course as always I still say "thank you" to our waitress. She brings the check without even asking if it's OK to do that nor offering us any dessert or anything else. So when I speak to the manager, I have the IDIOT manager saying it's a kitchen error the condiments. I was like "NO, that you can see that item without touching the food and I have had many of servers bring out my condiments ahead of time." I was really furious at her DINGINESS and just plain has NO COMMON SENSE. I told this manager how also being that none of the servers apologized for the missing items that the tip was lowered as well because they weren't NICE and how I have tipped 20% to someone that said they were "SO SORRY"(which I don't expect a profuse apology like that, but at least ONE sorry) for a missing side of ranch once. I know there was many other problems, but she could have had a better tip if she would have been nicer. Anyway, my point is, I so SICK of the IDIOT servers and managers out there that are lazy and uncaring. Finally at the end she did agree about that the servers should have checked the food and the order was put in correctly she had gone to check, so being that our own waitress brought out the burger on a bun shows how stupid this waitress was not to have noticed this. I can see her not noticing the ranch as a mistake on mine, but NOT the bread issue when it wasn't busy. Also, our waitress remember decided to not write down as I was telling her the condiments. THAT I don't understand why they feel that it's not important? So the manager took off a little off of our bill from like $41 and something cents to $35.70, left her $2.50 tip.

I get this type of uncaring, LAZY service at times pretty often, not all the time, but kind of often and I don't understand WHY servers aren't willing to ***CARE*** about you, but they want you to ***CARE*** about their tip?? It's like they don't want to ***WORK*** for their money. Writing "R" for ranch wouldn't have been that much trouble, really.

She didn't check ****. The waitress that ran out the appetizer didn't check the food either being it's ONE plate of food with 2 condiments missing that the manager said the ticket was correct. So my point being, WHY are you servers out there like this? You want money, but aren't willing to DO THE AMOUNT OF WORK for it and NOT even NICE enough to apologize, then you all complain about your crappy tip, well LOOK AT HOW YOU FREAKIN TREATED US??? To not even say you are sorry is just grounds for ALWAYS less than 20% NO MATTER WHAT. You can't be nice, F' YOUR TIP to be a good one. You will NEVER get 20% from us without saying you are sorry for a mistake *YOU* made!

WHY are servers so UNAPOLOGETIC?

Also, have had a number of times where I was ordering, was letting them write down the stuff, they were putting their pen away BEFORE I had a chance to say the rest. I even once, had said "I'm not finished yet" and puts her pen away TWICE that I have to say that I am not finished. WHY you servers don't want to **********WORK*********** for your tip, but then COMPLAIN about your crappy tip, huh??

You want the money, you have to do the WORK it takes to get the money. That's how the world works. You want money, you have to work for it.

At times, have had servers that they wrote down the drink orders(which is rare to even see thinking how that's a good sign of good service), then when the refills are asked about they are TOO LAZY to REREAD their written order asking for example this happened not too long ago "Who had the diet" to us in only a party of 2. My server should be ********TRYING TO FIND OUT WHO HAD THE DIET drink by ***************PUTTING SOME FREAKING ******************EFFORT*********************** into the damn job. Having to repeat for you I am not going to give you a good tip for being lazy. It's YOUR JOB to find out what I had. You wrote it down, WTH did you write it down if you aren't going to use it??? I mean really, it's ridiculous how LAZY and UNCARING servers are today. WHY?

WHY servers today feel so entitled because you brought us a plate of food and drinks that means 20% or even 15% guaranteed???

You don't want to do the work and most importantly, BE NICE, WHY should I care much about you all only make $2.13/hr?

We have tipped at times 25%-30% and even more at times as well as stiffed. The servers decide what their tip will be how they treat you. I have had several servers trying to put their pen away before I can say everything and walk away before I get all of the request it's like they don't want to do **********ANYTHING************ for their tip, then complain "They only left me 10% or whatever." It's like HOW the hell can you complain if you put in 10% effort and wasn't nice?? You have NO RIGHT to complain if you didn't do what you COULD have done for the customer. Even simply apologizing makes A HUGE difference at least in our tips. I value if you are nice or mean. You want to play the mean game, you are not going to get a good tip.

It's almost like I am asking for too much, but WHY can't I get what I want for my tip money? I should have just as much right as someone else does to get good service. Even if that means I want more than the table next to me. The difference is I am going above 20% level if I get more service. For example, a bill that is $39 and something cents, we left $10 before for really good service. Some people don't even tip $10 on $50 even. Also, those people that are tipping less are asking for less. My beef is that they don't want more money. They'd rather get 15%-20% and do much of nothing rather than getting 25%-30%. That I don't get? WHY be lazy and even more so, the easiest thing, WHY be not nice? There's no reason to not say "Sorry about that" when my ranch is missing, NONE! Yet, it's like only 5% of servers apologize for mistakes. Especially the smaller mistakes like missing condiments it's more like 3%. You want a better tip, you need to apologize. How is it so horrible to want someone to be nice you are being nice to back?

At Applebee's, a waitress I even apologized for my heavily modified order to be nice. Food comes out, the side of mexi-ranch and the side of tartar sauce is missing. The waitress that ran the food yells at the other waitress about what I had ordered rather than working as a team and of course doesn't apologize for the missing items. So I get the mexi-ranch from my waitress and she doesn't say she's sorry, but I STILL said "THANK YOU." She tells me she's still waiting on the tartar sauce. So I wait, finally after 5 minutes total of when I originally received my food, I get the tartar sauce from a 3rd waitress. I don't expect this waitress to apologize since she had nothing to do with this since this wasn't the waitress that delivered our food and of course she didn't apologize as she shouldn't since she didn't do anything wrong. Well, my point is, I WAS FREAKIN NICER TO OUR WAITRESS THAN SHE WAS TO ME. It's ridiculous so I waited 5 minutes for 2 condiments WTH???? LONGER for tartar sauce??? Seriously, that's just TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. Then no apology to top it off. So her tip was pretty low like 8% or something like that. WHY? No sorry for one thing. Two, my waitress could have brought those out ahead of time. Three, the waitress that ran the food didn't compare the order in the kitchen to the food to not know I ordered these(assuming the order was put in correctly which it probably was) Fourthly, to have one sauce but not the other is utterly RIDICULOUS. She was too lazy to open a jar or container of tartar sauce for me, how ridiculous is that. Fifthly, the waitress that ran the food could have easily fixed the issue, instead acted like because this wasn't her table she didn't care. ****ty service should receive a ****ty tip.

I just had not too long ago a waitress just didn't even off us a box or dessert just brought the check. Then when she brought the check I was asking for the box, tops of the condiment containers, bag, and to-go drinks. She was almost walking away BEFORE I could even get the entire list going. WHY? You want the money, but don't want to do the AMOUNT OF WORK for it. Then, she brings me cups. By then I was super pissed and said "I didn't order to-go cups, I ordered to-go DRINKS." I mean how STUPID is this waitress that she thinks that I am not going to send her back if I don't have everything I asked for. Needless to say we left 9%. WHY are servers TRYING to get out of doing WORK? You want the money, but don't want to do the work, WHY? Then complain about the ****ty tip, WHY? It's like the way she came at us with the check almost like "That's all I have to do for this table besides ring their check up." It's like she didn't offer a box for my leftovers or anything. WHY? WHY you servers don't want to do the AMOUNT OF WORK it takes to get a good tip? Not writing even "R" for ranch down is pretty lazy. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention this waitress I had to ask her to write our order down, because she was too lazy to do it even. WHY you servers don't want to do work and then expect good payment??? WHY if someone asked for to-go DRINKS would you give them empty cups? WHO in their right mind wants to have to do work as a customer to pour and potentially spill their drink? I mean if I had asked for to-go cups that's one thing, but I didn't. Also, she didn't even stay long enough to really LISTEN to what I said. I didn't say cups, I said DRINKS. She wonders why I had asked if she could write our orders down, she needed to that PROVES it that she couldn't remember everything without writing it down that she sucked with just basic items even, not even modified items like in a food order even.

Why is service so bad these days? WHY do you servers want the tip, but don't want to do the **WORK** for it? You can't have it both ways, either you want a good tip or you don't. Also, WHY not say you are sorry if you messed up? In most cases, you can tell for obvious errors like that WHO is at fault, yet don't admit it and think you will get a good tip, NO, by being NICE you will get a better tip, but acting like you don't care, why should we???
I'll ask the obvious question: Any chance this can be explained as a simple communication error?

I'm thinking 99%, but I could be wrong.

OP, if you are calling to see a manager for lack of thank you and some missing ranch, then I would say you have bigger problems than bad service

NO, I am very polite and I am very considerate. Please why I ask for everything in one shot so I don't run my server, yet they want to be ran at times. I still thank them even though I didn't get a sorry from their mouths. A lot of them are mean. Once, at Cheesecake Factory, me and my husband got some appetizers to share, I ordered a shake, and then towards the end I gave an entrée order, but before I had a chance to say "To-go"(I wanted this item for the next day a past dish(this was around 8p.m. at night), the waitress said to me "I was going to say, YOU CAN EAT." Was that really necessary for a server to make comments on how much someone orders? It's like servers are MEAN. They have NO RIGHT to JUDGE how much someone orders. A LOT of servers are just MEAN out there.

Another time, I had gone to Hard Rock Cafe(the restaurant), I had ordered the pulled pork nachos, then ordered a pulled pork sandwich. The waiter goes "You must really like the pulled pork, don't ya?" What is it with the COMMENTING about what you order? No server should be saying ANYTHING about that something seems stranger or different about what someone orders or how much someone orders.

Once, we had gone to this restaurant, we got seated, then another couple got seated. Our waitress went to greet them first, then us. She doesn't write the orders down. I order an iced tea, my husband ordered a mixed drink off the menu. So our waitress comes back EMPTY HANDED which she could have at least gotten my iced tea by that point, she tells him they are out of the stuff to make it, so he tells her right away another drink. So I see our waitress bring out the frozen margaritas for the other table that I should have had my iced tea first since we were seated first and it was only an iced tea. Also, because she had made a trip to our table to tell my husband about that they couldn't make the 1st drink he had decided on. She finally comes back without my iced tea. So I tell her I had ordered an iced tea. She comes back with the iced tea. I told her "You could have said you were sorry." Her response was "I DON'T HAVE TO SAY I'M SORRY." So as she walked away I said "Well I don't have to tip you then."" Needless to say we stiffed her. We had only ordered some drinks and an appetizer so the bill amount wasn't that much anyways, even if there was the one bar drink on there. I had gone to the hostess's stand to tell her about that our waitress greeted the other table first even though she had seated us first. I really thought our waitress was going to say "I'm sorry about that." My jaw dropped to see she was so mean and bitchy. I couldn't imagine saying I didn't have to apologize to someone. What a MEAN person she was. This happened probably in 2008 or 2009, still hurts to this day.

So my point is, servers are mean in most cases and then you act like *I* am the villain when I am very nice to them. Apologizing even when I have a modified order at times even and it still doesn't help.

NO, I am not fat. I HONESTLY am not. You must be to keep saying these things.
LOL. I think I've found a new entertaining poster to hate-follow.

Heaven forbid that a waiter attempt to make conversation. Back in my table waiting days, I made my biggest tips from tables where I established some friendly banter with the patrons.

And you are still pained by a slow drink order from last decade? Wow, you must be an absolute laugh riot to know. Somebody says something cross to me and I might get annoyed, but 5 minutes later I've forgotten about it completely.

I can't decide if you're a massive troll, a horrible human being, or both. Either way, keep it up. This is wildly entertaining.

Spring, I saw your fat, drunk husband in Biloxi last night.

We were at a 5 seat blackjack table: seat 1,3,4,5 were occupied.
Your husband was in seat 4. He was drunk and obnoxious, and losing.
The rest of us were winning, especially seat #3. In the middle of the 2 deck shoe, he jumps from seat 4 to seat 2 - in other words he is now getting seat 3s cards. Fortunately for this oaf he lost and left before a bad ass-kicking.

So you are not the only fat dumbass in your family...

My soul read is that OP is an ignorant **** from the American South and those people often have husbands. I wouldn't be surprised if he is gay and just doesn't know it yet or doesn't identify as gay despite secretly having Grindr on his phone.

If you try to do it when she's about 2/3 of the way through those pork nachos, you could time it perfectly with her heart.

Springs,

Quote:
Here's a list of my overcharges I have had over the years since at least 2003.

$1.38 Wrong price from menu for soft drinks($1.99 was charged, but the menu stated $1.30 for each soft drink at a Mexican restaurant called Mi Mamacitas.
$0.75 - Charged for extra cheese when I ordered extra onions, not extra cheese-Corkys Bbq
$0.50-$0.25 on a margarita listed as a price on the menu that the server charged me for the wrong margarita due to I ordered a margarita that was on their menu that had blue curacao, but they were out, so I ordered one of their regular margaritas on their menu, which I was charged for the one with blue curacao which was 25 cents more. 25 cents I more I was overcharged for extra bbq sauce, even though we had gone there MANY, MANY times at OHenrys Food & Sprits, I was NEVER charged extra before for bbq sauce, which they took off both 25 cent issues off the check.
$1.51 House Salad charged without an entree, but I ordered an entree at a restaurant that is no longer in business which was called Maxim.
$11.00-Waiter rung up wrong table on my credit card at Applebees
$21.50-Waiter at Chilis rung up wrong table on my husbands credit card
$1.50-Wrong price from menu at Copelands.
$4.50-Estimating the wrong amount rung up on my credit card which was $23 and something cents and I was rung up $27 and something cents, which is $4 and something cents overcharge at Bennigans.
$3.00-Grand Mariner shot I NEVER ordered that was for the table behind us at Outback.
$15.00- Estimating 3 free wines that were supposed to be taken off with a purchase of an entree for each person at the table at Zea Rotisserie & Grill Restaurant.
$0.31-Waiter not giving back my FULL AMOUNT of change from $34.69. He only gave a $5 bill back, but no cents at local seafood and Italian restaurant called Tecoros.
$0.04-Cucos Rita $4.95 menu price, charged $4.99-Waitress at Cucos Mexican Restaurant.
$0.04-Cucos Rita $4.95 menu price, charged $4.99-Waiter at Cucos Mexican Restaurant.
$0.50-Chilis Ribs that had on an old menu that was given to me when I ordered which had $13.99 and we were charged $14.49 from the waitress we had. My husband received the newer menu.
$0.30-Ribs at Outback-$17.29 was charged, but on the menu had $16.99 from the waitress we had.
$0.30- Fox and Hound had $6.99 on their menu for a sandwich my husband ordered and we were charged $7.29 from the waitress we had.
$4.91- This is adding up an over and an undercharge at Chilis from the waiter we had. Was actually charged $6.50 for a drink I NEVER ordered, but wasnt charged for a $1.99 coke. I figured out tax and that is the price with tax I was overcharged.
$1.50-Bennigans waitress took my $20 off comp paper for a previous bad service experience and gave it to the manager to fix, but still handed us the bill with $18 and about fifty cents off instead of $20 off the bill as she could SEE it should have been.
$5.25- Charged for a drink I NEVER ordered at Chilis from the waiter we had.
$4.00-Charged an extra $4 for Bacardi just because I ordered a pina colada with Bacardi rum, which I was charged altogether $8 for a pina colada that I was charged for lots of times in the past at that restaurant only $4. The waitress admitted it was a mistake.
$7.00- At Chevys Fresh Mex, the waitress actual charged us $9.95 for both my husband and Is margaritas which one was $5.95, the other was $6.95.
$4.75-I, the week before, had gotten a margarita made with Jose Cuervo at this seafood and Italian restaurant called Tecoros for $4.50. A week later, a waitress charged me $9.25 for the same exact margarita, same exact size glass. They fixed it, so I was correct. The next times I went in there, still only charged $4.50.
$0.25-Waitress not only got my drink order wrong, but also charged me for the wrong drink which was a 25 cent difference in the drinks at Serranos Salsa Company.
$2.00- Burger that was $6.99, but charged me for a burger that was $8.99
0.50-Bacardi Never Ordered for a Pina Colada

$92.29 TOTAL

It is also not counting when my mom in 1996 or 1997 was charged for eggs she didn’t order at a restaurant called Russel’s Grill when I had gone to college back then.
Update?
