LKJ, if being anti-pit bull means I'm republican, then I guess I'm guilty.

I was joking about the fact that rep thinks that only a Republican would have a problem with him.

I'm also a huge spoiler nit and were it not for thread decorum could have argued that derail for days.

I once had a friend rave on about this show that had already finished and she couldn't believe I hadn't seen it and was totally hellbent on me watching it. I finally agreed to give it a go and she ends up telling me exactly what the big thing was that happened at the end I'm like "Ok so I won't be watching that show then" lol. Seriously ****ed up.

Spoilers improve the experience according to foolproof studies. She was just trying to help you enjoy it more.

She knew she'd ****ed up lol.

Lapka, can I eat these mushrooms from my lawn?

(Obviously won't eat them no matter what the answer is in case you're a psychopath running a long con in which you trick someone into eating deadly mushrooms.)

Greg,

As a non-mushroom expert I believe your paranoia may be balanced out by eating the mushrooms, so I say go for it. Although targeting you for a long con would be pretty awesome!

That's some good looking grass you've got there. Eat the mushrooms, what's the worst that could happen?

New Dids,

The second worst whooping I took from the old man was after convincing my 7yo sister to eat a couple of mushrooms I had found in a field. Nothing happened to her but my old man raged.

I’ll tell the story of the worst whooping I received if anyone is interested. It also involved my sister, the Easter bunny and a rifle.

Screw it, I’m telling the story anyway.

For my 12th birthday, I was given a Marlin .22 rifle. Different times. Great gun which I still own today.

Anyway, like any 12yo boy with a gun, I was out shooting anything that wasn’t moving. I had moved to the porch and was shooting fence posts when my sister wandered out to watch.

An unsuspecting jackrabbit came bounding across the dirt road. Of course, as a dumb kid, I shot it dead. Without missing a beat, I looked at my sister and said, ‘I’m sorry, but there isn’t going to be an Easter this year. I just killed the Easter bunny’.

She ran off balling as I chuckled. There was no convincing her that I wasn’t true. Every time, for the better part of a week, she would cry and my old man took it out on me. I took at least four spankings for the one transgression.

I got that same rifle for my 13th birthday having had it taken away for a full year.

Good times.

You need to take better pictures of the mushrooms. It could be champignongs or it could be white death cap from this picture.

Picture from upper side without grass and a picture from downside, so that a leg is well visible. You need to have a look if the leg grows from a kind of cup, like in this picture. Never, NEVER NEVER NEVER eat anything that grows from a cup. It is no joke. You could die or pay with your liver.

If it doesn't have a cup and if the lower part is not white, but darker, slight reddish/brownish color, like in this picture, then this are champignons and perfectly eatable.

Basically always better be save than sorry, because with mushrooms it can go soooooooo bad.

Thanks guys, I just ate them. Delicious!

Ok I was going to tell a story about sisters and whoopings but your story reminded me of an Easter bunny story. I was pretty young, maybe 4 and I was super excited about Easter coming when our cat left a dead rabbit as a present for us. My brothers convinced me that the rabbit was the Easter bunny and I was inconsolable. I don't think my brothers copped a beatdown due to it. I'm pretty sure though my older brother would have chosen a whooping over losing his gun for a year.

Yes, he was.

No, it was a black-tailed jackrabbit. They don’t make good eating. Where I grew up, they were pests. Best left for the coyotes.

Seriously can't imagine a spanking as a child or an adult. Being beaten by an adult, or beating a child is just crazy to me.

I raised two children to adulthood without laying a hand on either one. So, I agree with your sentiment.

However, I do not begrudge the spankings/beatings I received from my father one bit. I earned each of them. He did what he thought was best at the time.

Chalk it up to a different time that has thankfully passed.
