Trinkets are destined to be broken or carelessly discarded. It is their nature.

Nobody owns a trinket.

Person A is a dick for buying something fragile and then not planning for its transport. Also person A is a dick for expecting someone else to handle his/her responsibility.

Get a written confirmation next time indicating person B is responsible for the safe delivery or better yet, realize when you’re drawing up that contract that you’re a dick and rip that **** up. Wrap it in the blanket you keep in your trunk, and if you don’t have one you deserve to freeze on the side of the road with your broken trinket.

Person B at fault. Person A is a jackass if he/she wants person B to pay for any of it. Person B is a jackass for not paying for it if person A is a jackass. The fact this got escalated to needing to be solved via the internet means they are no doubt both jackasses.

Person B should reimburse person A and then get better friends. Person A should lighten the **** up and stop being a life douche.

Person B owes person A nothing. The owner of the trinket, Person A, is responsible for the safety of the trinket. Person A miscalculated that the trinket was safest in the hands of Person B. I also think that it is highly possible that Person A forgot about the trinket as well, considering Person A did not ask for the trinket back before Person B exited the car.

WTF how is anybody voting anything other than 0%. You people are crazy.

B did A a service that B received no payment for whatsoever. A is an absolute dick for even considering asking for payment.

Realistically the only outcome of this will be that person B will never do anything for person A ever again and will resent them for bringing it up. Just thought I'd point that out in case you are person A OP

I think Person A is wrong if he is looking for some sort of payment from Person B. If this is the case then I think Person B should just get some revenge and make him forget about the trinket in question.

When Person A is sleeping, Person B should ever so gently place a tomato on Person A's driver seat. Then in the morning when Person A goes to get in his car, he will unexpectingly sit on the tomato, resulting in the biggest mess he has ever seen. Thus, forgeting about the trinket.

If person B is a reasonable person, he will replace the trinket.

If person A is a reasonable person, he will not expect anything from person B and replace it himself if he wants another one. He will learn that if something is important to him, he should hold it himself.

A reasonable solution to this is take the cost of the trinket T$.

Then take the cost of employing B for one hour B$.

T$ - B$ is what B owes A.

So if B makes $50 and the trinket cost $5, A now owes B $45.
