Under your plan, do you expect that if you simply put RG in your ignore list, you'll peacefully scroll past the occasional ignore notification and that will be that? Or do you perhaps think it's more likely that you'll sit through a bunch of shitty derails involving other posters because you're not going to be able to convince dozens of people to all do the same thing that you're doing?

The "just ignore this person, never actually ban anybody" train of thought is always half-baked at best.

It's more of a leak than a weirdness IMO. Feels like using a subscriptions page as a landing page is the most efficient way. But you're not alone in totally shunning the subscribe thing.
