Settled on a mini chainsaw for the older one and a nutribullet for the younger one. Those dorks need some excitement.

Good to hear. Seems like a very good outcome from such a horror story.

Is it true some Twitter accounts for companies get to screen their incoming tweets? If so, Twitter is kinda lame.

Can someone please explain how to embed a YouTube video in a thread? I’ve tried three different YouTube links inside the YouTube brackets and nothing is working

The help section in the about the forum’s section was written by an autistic person. If you follow it literally you get an error message. It should simply say, see the code at the end of the link? Copy that and post it between two youtube [encasements] such as shown. . Instead, it says to delete up to the / …. However, there are two right slashes! Aaahha, took me 30 minutes to figure it out. Conciseness counts people. I’m an intp, I take things literally

Took me around 20 seconds to understand. User error, and reading comprehension issues on your part.

To whomever it may concern,

For Christmas this year, my wish is to have a single LC megathread.

When I say megathread it can mean a new thread every now and then, just on a different time basis than monthly. It could be every year, or every season - I don't care. Making a new one is just an extra thread I have to subscribe to, and inevitably, there comes a month where I forget, and I miss like a week or two of LC posts. I have read these threads for years even when I am not posting often. It is a small request.

Another reason it is quite obnoxious is due to our cute naming conventions, to actually go back in time and find conversations that happened in LC threads. It makes searching really hard, and this software already has a terrible search function. It would be so much better to include month/year in the thread title somewhere. Makes it way easier to search later.

It also makes having a consistent group of posters kind of difficult, because they always have to go find a new thread. It's only the most depraved of us that find ourselves in here every month.

I can't really think of a good reason to have a new thread every month other than "it's tradition." If it is actually better and I am missing something crucial, please let me know.

Just some thoughts, and I hope not to step on any sensitive toes in the process. I hope everyone is having a happy holiday.

Regards,

Jmakin

Maybe we could make the title a commemoration of dids’ birthday.

Not unless RG and Playa get unbanned, even though I hate them both and some of you think I rock a He Hate Me jersey. Let them post and be ignored.

The remarkable thing about the month LC thread, is that the fresh start of each month, almost universally ends whatever ridiculous conversation is occurring. It inevitably begins brand new conversations. Very rare that a topic is carried over. That’s not always good but it is never bad.
